On April 14, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Slovakia, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang met and worked with Deputy Minister Vladimir Vnuk.
Providing some basic information about Slovakia's agricultural production, Deputy Minister Vladimir Vnuk emphasized that Slovakia has the potential to promote cooperation with Vietnam in the fields of smart agriculture, land management, water resources, and processing industry of products from poultry, beef, pork, vegetables, tubers, and fruits.
Vietnamese businesses and partners can access information on Slovakian food exporters through the government's official online database.
Deputy Minister Vladimir Vnuk said that in July 2024, a delegation from the Committee on Science, Technology and Environment of the Vietnamese National Assembly visited agricultural and food centers to learn about the market, learn from experience and seek cooperation opportunities with local partners, and visited a number of graduate students studying in Bratislava.
Currently, the two sides continue to maintain contact and exchange information to enhance understanding of each other's interests and markets, contributing to gradually deepening the cooperative relationship between the two countries.
Deputy Minister Vladimir Vnuk highly appreciated the role and positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in Slovakia to the host society as the 14th ethnic minority community of Slovakia.
With sincere thanks to Deputy Minister Vladimir Vnuk for taking the time to receive and exchange information, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang emphasized Vietnam's efforts to integrate and open the market over the past time. The S-shaped country has signed and implemented many free trade agreements, including EVFTA, to sharply reduce and eventually eliminate import taxes on the majority of each other's goods; currently the world's leading rice exporter, second in coffee exporter, and leading in the world in seafood exporter.
Believing that Vietnam and Slovakia still have much room and potential for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and high-quality human resources, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang wishes to learn more about Slovakia's demand for foreign labor, including young, hard-working labor from Vietnam.
The Ambassador suggested that in the coming time, the Slovakian Ministry of Agriculture coordinate with the Embassy and Vietnamese partners to organize a number of practical activities, especially in 2025, which is the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (February 2, 1950 - February 2, 2025).
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Vladimir Vnuk respectfully invited Ambassador Pham Truong Giang to attend the 50th International Food and Agriculture Exhibition and Diplomacy Day in Nitra next September.
