Hanoi: Dong Da Lake's appearance is renovated with 300 billion VND

Dong Da Lake (also known as Hoang Cau Lake) is located in the center of Dong Da district, with a lake surface area of ​​about 13.3 hectares, and a lake perimeter of over 2,100m. To the East and Southeast is Hoang Cau Street connecting Lang Street to De La Thanh and running around the lake is Dang Tien Dong - Mai Anh Tuan Street. The streets around Dong Da Lake are 1,270m long, with a current cross-section of 6.5m. Hanoi City is aiming to build this place into a tourist attraction and host of major events. Therefore, the urgent requirement now is to renovate the infrastructure and build a lake landscape to meet the development of the capital. The progress will be implemented in the period from 2024-2026.

Dong Da District People's Committee started construction from July 2024.

The lake is surrounded by a corrugated iron fence to facilitate construction.

The renovation includes the following items: Pave the surrounding sidewalk, upgrade the lake embankment, replace the damaged railing system around the lake...

...and arrange a system of carpet trees and decorative shrubs interspersed with the seating system, replacing the lighting system.

The renovation project has a total investment of about 300 billion VND.

After renovation, Dong Da Lake will have an outdoor walking path, creating a landscape highlight; and at the same time, it will be a 1,000-person performance stage during events.

Project perspective is about 6,500m2 wide.

The construction unit representative confirmed that this is a temporary location encroaching on the lake to gather construction materials.

This temporary encroachment will be returned at the end of the renovation project.

A representative of the Dong Da District Urban Management Department also denied the rumor of filling up Dong Da Lake to carry out the project.

The project arranges convenient facilities such as resting chairs made of natural stone cut according to design; children's play area on Dang Tien Dong street and 4 points of concentration for children's play equipment.

This area will feature a scenic highlight, including a stage and outdoor grandstand.

According to the orientation, Hanoi will build Dong Da Lake area into a tourist attraction, organizing major events of the district and city.
