Choosing a sunscreen with a very high SPF and applying it only once a day is not enough to protect your skin from the harmful effects of UV rays, especially in the hot summer sun.

The higher the SPF, the better.

SPF is determined based on the effectiveness of applying two milligrams of sunscreen per square centimeter of skin. 1 SPF is equivalent to 10 minutes. If a sunscreen has an SPF of 15, it will protect the skin for about 150 minutes.

Some people think that choosing a sunscreen with a higher SPF will protect your skin more effectively. However, this is not entirely true. In fact, many high SPF products can have a thick texture, which can easily clog pores or make your skin feel greasy.

Experts suggest that you should choose sunscreen products depending on the nature of your activities during the day.

For daily use, you should prioritize sunscreen with SPF 30-50. If you go to the beach or do a lot of outdoor activities, choose a higher SPF.

Apply too little cream

Too little sunscreen is not enough to form a protective layer against UV rays. For the face, you need an amount equivalent to a coin or a pump the length of two fingers. In addition to the face, you need to use sunscreen on the neck, chest and hands.

If you feel that applying enough sunscreen at once makes your skin feel stuffy and difficult to spread evenly, you can apply it twice, about 20 minutes apart, so that the sunscreen can fully adhere to your skin.

One application of sunscreen is not enough to protect your skin all day long, especially when you are outdoors a lot. Therefore, most experts recommend reapplying sunscreen after about 3 hours to maximize skin protection.

If you work in an office or stay indoors with little exposure to sunlight, you can reduce the frequency, applying once in the morning and once in the early afternoon.

Must remove makeup after applying sunscreen

According to ETToday , if you don't wear makeup, just apply sunscreen, you don't necessarily need to use makeup remover products, just clean thoroughly with facial cleanser.

Then you can soak toner or lotion into cotton, gently wipe the skin surface to help clean more and provide necessary moisture for the skin, balance pH.

However, if you have to reapply sunscreen many times a day, it is best to remove makeup to avoid leaving cosmetics on the skin, clogging pores.
