The Lunar New Year 2025 is approaching, people's shopping needs are increasing, leading to an increase in the risk of smuggling and trade fraud. To maintain market stability, the Provincial Market Management Department has been drastically implementing synchronous measures to inspect and control the market, in order to protect the rights of consumers as well as legitimate businesses.
According to the assessment of the Provincial Market Management Department, at the end of 2024, despite suffering a lot of damage caused by storm No. 3 (Yagi), with the determination of the entire political system from the province to the grassroots and people and businesses in overcoming the consequences of the storm, production and business activities in Quang Ninh soon stabilized again.
Thanks to that, during the Lunar New Year, the supply and demand of goods in Quang Ninh remained basically stable, with shopping malls, supermarkets, stores and traditional markets operating normally, with abundant and diverse goods, and no shortages or sudden price increases. However, in the province, counterfeit goods, goods infringing on intellectual property rights, and goods of unknown origin still occurred with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks.
Faced with the above situation, the provincial Market Management force has been resolutely implementing synchronous solutions to inspect and control the market, combat against illegal trading and counterfeit goods. Implementing the proposed plan, the Market Management force has mobilized 100% of its personnel, arranged to be on duty, closely following the market 24/7 to inspect, monitor, proactively grasp and forecast the market situation, and promptly propose measures to combat illegal trading and counterfeit goods.
The provincial Market Management Department has proactively developed plans and presided over the implementation of inter-sectoral inspections of essential goods with high consumer demand during the Lunar New Year, such as: Cakes, jams, candies, alcohol, cigarettes, soft drinks; food products from livestock and poultry; clothing, fashion accessories; pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, functional foods, electronics, refrigeration, clothing, footwear, etc. Thereby promptly preventing the risk of counterfeit, fake, and poor-quality goods from entering the market.
To stabilize the market during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Provincial Market Management Department has also strengthened coordination and control of goods traded on e-commerce platforms and social networking sites such as Facebook, TikTok, Zalo; checked the quality, origin, and source of goods, compliance with legal regulations on national technical standards and regulations and promulgation of goods quality standards, food safety... resolutely and strictly handled violations.
Along with strengthening professional work and stabilizing the market, the provincial Market Management Department also proactively coordinates with sectors, localities and units to organize propaganda and dissemination of legal regulations on goods trading and ensuring food safety; mobilize people and businesses not to participate, assist and join in the fight against smuggling, production and trading of banned and counterfeit goods; require production and business establishments to sign a commitment not to trade in counterfeit, smuggled and poor quality goods.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung, Director of the Provincial Market Management Department, said: In the coming time, the Provincial Market Management Department will continue to direct the Market Management teams to grasp the market situation, strengthen market inspection and control before, during and after the Lunar New Year; at the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of business activities at tourist areas, sightseeing spots, and spring festival areas in the province.
