The Provincial Oriental Medicine Association held a ceremony to celebrate the 70th anniversary of "Vietnam Doctors' Day", the 234th anniversary of the death of Great Physician Ton Hai Thuong Lan Ong - Great Physician Tue Tinh and summarize the activities of the Long An Provincial Oriental Medicine Association in 2024. Attending were Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department - Huynh Van Thanh.
At the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered incense in gratitude and commemoration of the life and career of Great Physician Ton Hai Thuong Lan Ong and Great Physician Tue Tinh.
Inheriting and promoting the valuable heritage of traditional medicine and the teachings of President Ho Chi Minh "A good doctor must be like a mother" - in 2024, the clinics examined, prescribed medicine and treated more than 400,000 people, of which nearly 300,000 were free of charge. The whole province currently has 109 Oriental medicine establishments and 105 diagnosis and treatment teams in the Health Station, with more than 1,000 members participating in health care for the people. During the year, the Provincial Association coordinated with district, town, city associations and philanthropists to join hands to build public welfare works and give many gifts and charity houses to the disadvantaged, students and people in difficult circumstances.
In 2025, the Provincial Oriental Medicine Association will continue to develop its membership, strengthen the diagnostic teams in the health stations, examine and treat people's health with traditional medicine combined with modern medicine; build a national, scientific and popular Vietnamese medicine.
On this occasion, the representative of the Provincial Association presented certificates of merit from the Executive Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Oriental Medicine Association to 7 groups and 21 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the work of building and developing the Association in 2024 and the "For the cause of Oriental Medicine" medal to 15 individuals for their contributions to the cause of inheriting, promoting and developing Vietnamese Oriental Medicine.
