(NLDO) - Teachers will be held responsible, even disciplined, and not considered for competition if they have many students violating traffic laws.
On December 20, Mr. Ta Hong Luu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province, said that he had just signed and issued instruction No. 4264 on assigning responsibility and handling responsibility for heads, teachers, and students of educational institutions where students violate traffic safety laws.
Traffic Police of Thanh Hoa City Police handle students violating traffic laws in the area.
Accordingly, in this instruction, the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province requires heads of educational institutions to strictly comply with the provisions of the Road Traffic Law; set an example in complying with the provisions on traffic safety order; direct and organize propaganda and dissemination of legal knowledge on traffic safety order to students and teachers; issue regulations, monitor, inspect and strictly handle violations; coordinate with competent agencies in the management and education of students violating traffic safety order.
Notably, the head will be responsible in cases where students violate traffic safety order (with notification from the police agency) such as: Not wearing a helmet when driving a motorbike, carrying people on the vehicle without helmets, carrying more people than the prescribed number; the vehicle does not have a rearview mirror; not being old enough to drive a motorbike or motorbike.
The directive also assigns responsibility to homeroom teachers who do not fulfill their responsibilities and will be warned, criticized, have their performance level downgraded, and will not be considered for competition. If there is any behavior of condoning or covering up for student violations, strict disciplinary action will be taken against the teacher and the class unit that the teacher is in charge of.
Police propagate traffic laws to students in schools
Specifically, a warning will be given when the number of students violating is less than 5% during the school year; criticism and notification to the whole school will be given when the number of students violating is from 5% to less than 10% during the school year; and the level of task completion will be lowered when the number of students violating is 10% or more during the school year.
Teachers will not even consider emulation when the number of students violating is 10% or more or there are 2 serious cases in the same period of time.
Many teachers in Thanh Hoa province believe that assigning responsibility to the school is necessary, but assigning responsibility, or even not considering competition, to homeroom teachers is a bit rigid.
Because, according to many teachers, every year the school has instructions and propaganda about the Road Traffic Law to all students in the school, many schools even have very strict regulations, but students do not comply, violate on the street but blame the teachers, that is not right, the main responsibility is still the family.
According to Mr. Ta Hong Luu, the issuance of instructions for implementing the announcement of the Traffic Safety Committee of Thanh Hoa province and the conclusion of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem, Head of the Traffic Safety Committee at the conference to review the work of ensuring traffic order and safety are aimed at strengthening education in schools, raising awareness in the educational community, not at any great level of handling or discipline.
