From 10am this morning (May 19), the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet and Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway projects will officially be put into operation. Thus, within just 20 days, Binh Thuan has 2 expressways put into operation, to connect traffic smoothly with the Central Coast and the key economic region of the South.
If the Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway runs through rubber forests and vast dragon fruit gardens, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway crosses green rice fields, wind and solar power "farms", or "cuts" through majestic hills and mountains. Due to the terrain of many hills and mountains, the volume of rock that must be broken for construction is up to millions of cubic meters. From today, the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway is put into operation, the time from Ho Chi Minh City to Vinh Hao (about 245 km long) is only about 3 hours by car (half the time before). On this expressway, there are 6 intersections connecting with national and provincial highways, bringing tourists closer to famous tourist destinations of Binh Thuan such as: Co Thach Beach, Hon Cau tourist area, Bau Trang national landscape...
Wherever the highway extends, more potential will be awakened (tourism, wind power, solar power, high-tech agriculture). In fact, wherever the highway passes through, the economic spearheads will accelerate compared to the previous period, due to the "bottlenecks" being cleared. The boom in tourism in Binh Thuan during the recent holidays is a proof. Not only tourism, real estate projects in Binh Thuan are also bustling again, when investors choose Binh Thuan to implement projects. It is expected that today (May 19) will be the signing ceremony to restart the Novaworld Phan Thiet project, after a period of "freezing" due to difficulties in the real estate market.
Today is also the day that all Vietnamese people celebrate the 133rd birthday of beloved President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023). During his lifetime, Uncle Ho paid special attention to transportation. He affirmed that "Transportation is the lifeblood of all work. Good transportation makes everything easy. Bad transportation makes everything stagnant". Applying his viewpoint in building and developing the transportation industry, along with modern airport and seaport projects, the Party and Government are making efforts to build the North-South expressway axis of more than 2,000 km long passing through 32 provinces and cities, considering this a vital traffic axis to create a new growth rate for the country.
