The 6th Asian U18 Athletics Championship took place from April 14 to 18 in Qatif, Saudi Arabia. The Vietnamese youth athletics team competed in the tournament with the participation of three athletes: Mai Ngoc Anh, Luong Thi Khan and Le Thi Thao. These are the three best U18 female faces of Vietnamese Athletics. In 2024, all three young athletes had the opportunity to compete and gain experience at the 2024 Southeast Asian Youth Championship (for the U18 age group), held in Malaysia.
Among them, Luong Thi Khan won the gold medal in the women's 3,000m event and Mai Ngoc Anh won the gold medal in the women's high jump event. Young talent Le Thi Thao, who is considered as the "younger sister" of Quach Thi Lan, also had impressive performances at the National Youth Championships in the past two years. The goal of the Vietnam Youth Athletics team is for each athlete to compete with the highest effort to achieve good results, in order to prepare for the big arenas.
