Assigning tasks for the 2024 Provincial Defense Area Exercise

On May 13, the Command and Steering Committee for the Defense Area Exercise (DAD) of Military Region 2 coordinated with Phu Tho province to organize a conference to assign tasks for the Phu Tho province's DAD exercise in 2024.

Attending the conference on behalf of the Military Region 2 Command were: Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong - Commander of Military Region 2; Major General Nguyen Hong Thai - Deputy Political Commissar of Military Region 2; representatives of leaders of agencies of Military Region 2.

Standing members of the Provincial Party Committee attended the conference.

On the side of Phu Tho province, there were comrades: Bui Minh Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Bui Van Quang - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Phung Khanh Tai - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; members of the Provincial Steering Committee for the exercise of the KVPT; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; leaders of Phu Ninh district.

The 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Military Command Exercise, coordinated by the Party Committee and the Military Region 2 Command with central ministries and branches, was conducted in October 2024. Up to now, Phu Tho province has organized to disseminate the tasks of the Military Command Exercise to comrades in the Provincial Party Committee; directed the Provincial Military Command to coordinate with relevant agencies to advise the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to issue a complete system of directive documents; and directed all levels and branches to promptly carry out all preparations for the successful exercise.

At the conference, the General Staff, Military Region 2 announced the Decision to establish the Steering Committee, the Steering Committee Agency for the exercise; disseminated and guided a number of contents in the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Military Zone Exercise.

Accordingly, the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Military Exercise has the code name "PT-24" with the theme "Moving the provincial armed forces into combat readiness states, moving localities into defense states; organizing preparations and practicing defensive operations". The content of the provincial exercise includes 3 phases, 4 training issues with 31 contents.

Conference overview.

The Military Region's KVPT Exercise Steering Committee requests the Phu Tho Provincial Military Command to advise the Provincial KVPT Exercise Organizing Committee to organize all contents. During the exercise, organize filming, take photos, compile into video clips as research materials, and present them when explaining the exercise. Documents and materials used in the exercise must be managed according to confidentiality regulations. Do not use official documents, resolutions, or plans as exercise documents. The training ground and combat shooting practice are designed according to regulations, ensuring a complete system of fortifications and combat trenches according to regulations.

Speaking at the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Bui Minh Chau affirmed that the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Phu Tho province determined that the 2024 Provincial Military Zone Exercise is a key political task of the Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and in 2024. He suggested that the agencies of the Military Region regularly pay attention to guiding Phu Tho province and Phu Ninh district to fully and synchronously develop a system of exercise documents in accordance with regulations, ensuring that it is in accordance with the intention, close to local reality with the goal of being practical, effective, and economical.

In the current period, the KVPT exercise poses many new requirements, especially ensuring the requirements of practice, so during the practice and exercise, the Military Region agencies guide the practice and exercise to ensure that it is correct and accurate to the current issues; increase the use of information technology in the exercise, especially the meetings on the mechanism operation to make the provincial KVPT exercise more lively.

Concluding the conference, Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong agreed with the proposals and recommendations of Phu Tho province and highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee for the 2024 Phu Tho Provincial Military Zone Exercise.

Lieutenant General Pham Hong Chuong suggested that Phu Tho province needs to fully inform cadres, party members and people about the purpose and significance of the 2024 provincial KVPT exercise; prepare facilities well, unify contents, build a complete system of documents; consolidate the number of troops participating in the exercise to ensure correct and sufficient composition, correct functions and tasks; report and ask for opinions from central ministries and branches to have support for each content... Especially, it is necessary to ensure absolute safety of people, vehicles, weapons before, during and after the exercise.
