On the morning of November 18, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee held a ceremony to hand over decisions to officials. Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Phan Van Mai chaired the ceremony.
At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee presented decisions to receive and appoint key personnel at 6 agencies and units of the city.
Accordingly, Mr. Truong Tuan Anh, Senior Expert of the Office of the President (former Assistant to the President) was accepted and appointed to hold the position of Non-professional Member of the Board of Members, General Director of Ho Chi Minh City State Financial Investment Company (HFIC), from December 1, 2024.

Regarding the new Head of SHTP Nguyen Ky Phung, Mr. Mai requested the unit to review the organization of activities, review the land fund, both fill the high-tech zone and convert and improve the quality of the zone. This is a very important task this year and next year to contribute to attracting a large amount of investment here, with the goal of several billion USD or more. Along with that, focus on completing the documents to develop the next phase and prepare new spaces, at the same time, it is necessary to calculate the connection of spaces in Thu Duc City and other localities in the Southeast region.
Regarding the two new leaders of the Management Board of Investment and Construction of the New Urban Area of Southern Ho Chi Minh City, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee asked Mr. Nguyen Van Tai and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hien to calculate and solve the problems of the Southern Area, especially in the coming time, developing urban areas in the South, and moving towards forming the urban area of the Southern city after 2030. This needs to be done urgently.
Mr. Phan Van Mai also assigned the new Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Institute for Development Studies, Tran Thanh Binh, with a research background at the grassroots level, to increase the institute's leadership staff when he returns to the Institute, join hands with the city in strategic consulting, development orientation, creating policy mechanisms, etc. The Institute must be a place to connect resources, teams and domestic and international networks to develop the city.
