Gia Vuong changes from building advanced new rural areas

After Gia Vuong commune (Gia Vien) was recognized as meeting new rural standards (NTM) in 2017, the local Party Committee, government and people continued to join hands and unanimously improve the "quality" of the criteria. By the end of 2023, Gia Vuong had completed 19/19 criteria and was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a commune meeting advanced NTM standards.

Currently, the commune's traffic system has been invested in and expanded to ensure seamless connection with the district and provincial road systems, helping people travel and trade more easily and conveniently. The colorful flower roads were formed thanks to the contributions of party members, union members, association members and people from planting to care. Spacious houses interspersed with fruit gardens, economic development models bring in hundreds of millions of dong in income each year...

Thanks to the construction of advanced new rural areas, Gia Vuong hometown has become more and more beautiful, civilized and modern. Not only has the infrastructure been invested synchronously, the traffic routes are convenient, but the material and spiritual life of the people has also improved significantly.

Comrade Ha Ngoc Thuy, Chairman of Gia Vuong Commune People's Committee, said: To effectively implement the construction of advanced new rural areas, the commune determined that it is necessary to have the participation of the entire political system, solidarity, consensus and support from the people. Therefore, the locality has completed the Commune Steering Committee, Management Boards, Village Development Boards, and assigned specific tasks to each member in charge of the area and each criterion to organize the implementation.

During the implementation process, the Commune Steering Committee has clearly identified which tasks need to be done first, which tasks require the contribution of the people, solutions to overcome difficulties and specifically determined the progress of completing each criterion. On the other hand, the work of propaganda, mobilization, training and coaching for cadres, party members and people on building advanced new rural areas has also been widely deployed by the locality.

The commune has integrated the contents of building advanced new rural areas into village meetings, party cell activities, activities of associations and unions, through the radio system, and through local emulation movements. Through propaganda and mobilization work, people have a deeper understanding of the benefits and responsibilities of each citizen in building advanced new rural areas.

People have actively donated land, money and labor to build their homeland to develop more and more. As a result, Gia Vuong commune mobilized nearly 47 billion VND to contribute to completing the criteria for building advanced new rural areas.

Infrastructure and traffic system are invested synchronously and spaciously. The main roads of communes, inter-village roads, inter-hamlet roads, and main roads in the fields are asphalted, concreted, and hardened to 100%... In which, many roads have full sidewalks, drainage ditches, lighting, street signs, traffic signs... The commune also invests in building, renovating, and upgrading facilities and equipment for the Medical Station, kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools.

Along with that, the commune has focused on leading the people to develop the economy, boldly transforming the structure of crops and livestock towards commodity production; quickly applying scientific and technological advances to production, applying organic agricultural production processes, VietGAP production to create clean products, food safety and hygiene, with traceability; focusing on developing the economy from gardens and promoting aquaculture. Mobilizing people to invest in developing and expanding production models, farm livestock models far from residential areas; encouraging people to develop the economy in a sustainable direction.

Up to now, in the commune, there are 79 households with an average income of 200 million VND/household/year or more; 1 product is recognized as an OCOP product; the average production value per hectare of cultivation of the commune reaches over 44 million VND/year, the value of the aquaculture water surface reaches 250 million VND/ha/year; the average income reaches 69.9 million VND/person/year; the poverty rate has decreased to 0.5%.

In addition to economic development, the work of ensuring environmental landscape is of interest to Gia Vuong officials and people. People actively plant tree-lined roads, flower-lined roads and decorative ornamental plants; classify and treat waste according to regulations... creating a bright, green, clean and beautiful rural landscape.

The movement to build a model new rural residential area has been directed and implemented by the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune. By the end of 2023, Gia Vuong had 6/6 villages recognized by the People's Committee of Gia Vien district as meeting the standards of a model new rural residential area. With great efforts and determination, Gia Vuong commune has achieved 19/19 criteria and was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a commune meeting the standards of an advanced new rural area in 2023.

Gia Vuong today is transforming and growing strongly thanks to the new vitality from realizing the goals of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Promoting the achieved results, in the coming time, Gia Vuong will continue to maintain and improve the quality of the New Rural Construction movement, contributing to further improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
