Through the OCOP program, it has helped exploit the potential of land, local resources, and especially cultural values to create "multi-value" products, encourage creativity in production, and help products go beyond the traditional market. People are more confident, more creative, bold in starting a business, actively participating in the market economy, contributing to building a prosperous new countryside. Mr. Dang Huy Phong - Director of Quyen Phong Agricultural Cooperative shared that the unit has 40-50 hectares of guava in Hop Duc commune, Phuc Hoa commune. Before being recognized as OCOP, agricultural products were sold at wholesale markets, and prices were squeezed by traders. After OCOP, products were brought to clean fruit stores, mini supermarket chains, and even large corporations. The value of products was increased, and farmers no longer depended on traders. “Participating in the OCOP program helps products to be upgraded and become more widely known. Customers trust and are more confident when buying OCOP products with stamps and barcodes with full information about their origin. Producers' incomes have improved,” Mr. Phong shared. According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tan Yen district, the OCOP program has created a strong ripple effect, positively impacting the rural socio-economy. The production value of key agricultural products and OCOP products currently accounts for more than 75% of the total production value of the local agricultural sector, affirming outstanding economic efficiency.

In addition, the district supports 100% of the cost of testing quality and food safety (not exceeding 10 million VND/product); supports 100% of the cost of participating in domestic fairs and exhibitions (not exceeding 50 million VND/subject/time) and supports 100% of the cost of renting locations, operating points for introducing and displaying OCOP products, and booths of typical products of the district. The support of local authorities and timely support policies have been creating favorable conditions for people to develop the economy and improve the lives of people in rural areas. Mr. Nguyen Van Luan - Deputy Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Tan Yen district shared that every year, the District People's Committee supports communes and cooperatives to develop products participating in the OCOP program, focusing on products with potential and strengths of each locality for development. "The OCOP program has been creating a significant turning point in the rural economic picture. Recognition and ranking of products not only enhances competitiveness, meets market demand but also creates a strong change in production practices, contributing to completing production criteria, helping Tan Yen complete the goal of building advanced new rural areas on schedule", Mr. Nguyen Van Luan shared more.
