According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, the industrial production index in the first quarter of 2025 is estimated to increase by 2.74% over the same period. Of which, the mining industry decreased by 18.9%; the electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning production and distribution industry increased by 6.33%; water supply, waste and wastewater management and treatment increased by 1.4%. In addition, the electricity production output is estimated at more than 2,554 million kWh (up 10.32% over the same period); refined sugar processing is estimated at 207,594 tons (up 4.07%); MDF output is estimated at 7,564 m³ (up 84.71%)...

Total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated at more than 16,116 billion VND (up 10.63% over the same period).

Export turnover is estimated at 462 million USD (up 11.59% over the same period). Import turnover is estimated at 58.84 million USD (down 33.13% over the same period).

In the first quarter of 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai coordinated to develop growth scenarios, tasks, solutions and proposals, recommendations for the province's GRDP growth in 2025 to reach 8% or more. Implement tasks according to the plan and working program of the Provincial People's Committee; work program, 2025 plan of the Industry and Trade sector. Implement tasks in the fields of industry; energy, safety engineering and environment; trade, import and export; industrial promotion, trade promotion.

The conference focused on discussing the achieved results and proposed many solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles in the coming time. Accordingly, the Department will continue to review and complete the industrial production plan for the period of 2026-2030, develop a plan to implement the industrial cluster development plan that has been integrated into the provincial planning; continue to research and advise on the implementation of the national power development plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 (Power Plan VIII) approved by the Prime Minister; implement instructions on the handover of power grid projects invested by state capital to the electricity sector for management; coordinate to remove difficulties and obstacles of energy projects in the province; develop a detailed plan to implement the local industrial promotion program in 2025...
