Pig price on November 2, 2024: Increase and decrease of 1,000 VND/kg in the North and South

Pig price in the North

On the morning of November 4, the live hog market in the North witnessed an increase in price, with transactions ranging from 61,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

In localities such as Bac Giang and Hanoi, the price increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, bringing the transaction price to 64,000 VND/kg.

Phu Tho and Ha Nam also recorded similar increases, with the purchase price of live pigs reaching 63,000 VND/kg.

The remaining areas have no price changes, remaining stable.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The Central Highlands region continued to have no fluctuations in the first session of the week, with purchasing prices ranging from 58,000 - 61,000 VND/kg.

Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Lam Dong currently have the highest prices in the region, reaching 61,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the South, the price of live pigs remains stable, ranging from 59,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

In particular, Dong Thap, Can Tho and Soc Trang have purchase prices of 62,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.

Meanwhile, Ben Tre recorded the lowest price in the region at 59,000 VND/kg.

According to experts, with the current situation, the price of live pigs next week is expected to increase slightly, especially in the North. The reason comes from increased consumption and gradually stable supply, helping to maintain the upward price trend, with the price of live pigs nationwide forecast to fluctuate between 58,000 - 64,000 VND/kg. However, the price difference between regions will continue due to the difference in supply and demand.

Farmers are counting on this recovery to stabilize and expand production. However, disease remains a major risk, requiring effective preventive measures to maintain stable and long-term development.

Recently, African swine fever appeared in 10 communes of Dien Chau district, Nghe An province, causing more than 98 pigs to be destroyed, equivalent to over 4 tons. The district People's Committee issued an urgent telegram to implement measures to prevent the spread.

Mr. Le The Hieu, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dien Chau district, said that in the current heavy rain conditions, the risk of disease spreading is very high. The district has identified risk areas to direct people to implement biosecurity measures in livestock farming and strengthen disease control to minimize damage to the livestock industry.
