On the afternoon of April 18, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long received a delegation from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and the World Bank (WB) in Vietnam to promote the implementation of the project Promoting Energy Saving in Vietnam's Industrial Sectors. At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long shared Vietnam's strategic orientations in the field of improving energy efficiency and promoting green transformation, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing investment, effectively exploiting green financial resources, and guaranteeing risks to realize the set goals and ensure effective implementation.

Representative of the Green Climate Fund delegation, Mr. Hemant Mandal noted that Vietnam's development orientation is completely consistent with the GCF's support strategy. At the same time, GCF also highly appreciated Vietnam's growth potential and expressed its desire to accompany and support Vietnam to become an economic development engine of the Asian region.
GCF expects to promote cooperation through the SIBAs mechanism - a mechanism promoted by GCF to mobilize investment resources at the local level towards small and medium-sized enterprises to access green finance, thereby contributing to accelerating the green transformation and sustainable development process in Vietnam.

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long requested the Green Climate Fund and the World Bank to continue supporting the Ministry of Industry and Trade in implementing ongoing programs and projects and studying and expanding cooperation in priority areas in Vietnam's energy transition process such as offshore wind power development, solar power, and grid connectivity with countries in the Southeast Asian region.
