Pig price on November 18, 2024: Stable nationwide

DNVN - On November 18, 2024, the price of live pigs remained stable nationwide, fluctuating between 60,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the North

In the morning, the price of live pigs in the North remained between 62,000 - 64,000 VND/kg.

In Hanoi and Phu Tho, the purchase price reached 64,000 VND/kg, the highest level in the country.

Other regions in the North have no new fluctuations in pig prices.

Pig price in Central Highlands

In the Central and Central Highlands regions, the current price of live pigs fluctuates between 60,000 - 62,000 VND/kg.

In Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Lam Dong provinces, traders buy live pigs at 62,000 VND/kg.

In Binh Dinh alone, the price is lower, only reaching 61,000 VND/kg.

The remaining localities in the region sell live pigs at 60,000 VND/kg.

Pig price in the South

In the South, the market still recorded no changes this morning, with trading prices ranging from 60,000 - 63,000 VND/kg.

In Can Tho and Ca Mau, live pigs are being sold at 63,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.

On the contrary, the provinces of Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Kien Giang, Hau Giang, Bac Lieu and Tra Vinh recorded the lowest price in the region, only 60,000 VND/kg.

The average price of live pigs nationwide reached 61,700 VND/kg. Meanwhile, in China, the price of live pigs has been on a downward trend, currently at 57,800 VND/kg.

After a period of sharp price increases, the slow herd restoration has caused the price of piglets to cool down. In the North, the price decreased by VND10,000 to VND1.88 million/pig (weight from 7 - 10kg). Meanwhile, the Central and Southern regions maintained the corresponding prices of VND1.65 million/pig and VND1.69 million/pig.

According to the Department of Animal Husbandry, the total pig herd nationwide increased by 2.4% by the end of October compared to the same period last year. The pig herd is developing steadily and increasing steadily in most localities, ready to meet year-end consumption demand.

Vaccination work in Hai Duong

Since September 25, Hai Duong province has deployed vaccination for the autumn-winter crop to protect livestock and poultry. As of November 15, the whole province has injected more than 275,000 doses of vaccine for pigs, including vaccines against swine fever, scabies, blue ear disease and foot-and-mouth disease; more than 3.3 million doses of vaccine for poultry and 34,000 doses of rabies vaccine for dogs and cats. This is the highest result ever in the locality.

Kim Thanh, Thanh Ha, Ninh Giang and Cam Giang districts achieved the highest vaccination rates.

In addition, high-risk areas such as Thanh Mien, Thanh Ha, Kinh Mon Town and Hai Duong City have proactively injected nearly 17,000 doses of African swine fever vaccine to small-scale livestock farms.

Previously, the Hai Duong Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine closely coordinated with localities to monitor, urge and implement vaccination for livestock.
