Nghe An Provincial People's Committee has just directed functional agencies and local authorities to strengthen vaccination work, ensuring the rate reaches over 80% of the total herd for each type of disease according to regulations.

Districts, cities and towns are required to urgently review and count livestock, poultry, dogs and cats in the area, and at the same time develop plans and assign specific vaccination targets to each commune, ward and town. According to the plan, the vaccination campaign for livestock and poultry in the Spring crop will take place from March 15 to April 15, and the Autumn crop from September 15 to October 15.

To speed up progress, Nghe An province is committed to prioritizing the allocation of resources and funding to ensure that disease prevention work is carried out seriously and effectively.

Districts eligible for vaccine support will deploy vaccination of all vaccines provided. If the supply is insufficient, the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns will direct livestock farmers to proactively purchase more or arrange budgets to ensure the vaccination rate reaches at least 80% of the total herd.

In addition, local authorities and functional agencies will establish working groups and assign specific tasks to closely monitor and direct vaccination and disease prevention work.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment will organize regular inspection teams to monitor the implementation and promptly remove obstacles at the grassroots level.

Localities such as Quynh Luu, Con Cuong, Que Phong, and Tan Ky - where African swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease are occurring - will have to focus on thoroughly handling outbreaks and preventing the risk of widespread spread.
