Phuong Linh Company advertises '100g Hikid equals 20 liters of fresh milk': Ministry of Health requests inspection

DNVN - After receiving feedback about the 'explosive' advertising of Hikid milk products, the Ministry of Health requested Hanoi authorities to inspect. Meanwhile, Phuong Linh Import-Export & Trading Company Limited - the enterprise importing and distributing this milk product in Vietnam, has spoken out to admit shortcomings and lack of scientific basis.

On April 16, the Food Safety Department ( Ministry of Health ) requested the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department to inspect and strictly handle violations and exaggeration of Hikid milk products.

Previously, the Food Safety Department received feedback from the press about the Hikid milk product being advertised in a clip, comparing "100g of Hikid equals 20 liters of fresh milk". Therefore, the Food Safety Department requested the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department to inspect and handle organizations and individuals who advertise products in violation of the above mentioned article.

Hikid milk products are imported and distributed in Vietnam by Phuong Linh Import-Export & Trading Company Limited. On some fanpages advertising this milk, the phrase "Hikid - No. 1 in height" appears. In another advertisement, the image of a Hikid milk box is directly compared to fresh milk "100g Hikid = 2mg CBP = 20L of fresh milk". This milk company also uses images of many famous people to increase the reliability of the product.

In the information posted on the Fanpage "Huge Hikid" on April 14 about "Clarifying information about Hikid products and commitments from Phuong Linh Import-Export & Trading Company Limited", this company admitted shortcomings when comparing "the content of 2 mg CBP/100g of milk powder is equivalent to the CBP content in 20 liters of fresh milk". Currently, there is no scientific basis or official conversion documents from competent authorities to confirm the specific number.

In addition to comparing "2mg CBP content/100g milk powder equivalent to CBP content in 20 liters of fresh milk" in advertisements, Hikid also uses the word "number 1". Specifically, on the Fanpage "Huge Hikid", Hikid products are repeatedly affirmed as "Number 1 in height. The secret to increasing height, specifically for Asian children with a new generation growth formula from Korean colostrum". Hikid also uses images, costumes, and names of people introduced as doctors to advertise the product...

Previously, on April 15, the Food Safety Department requested the Hanoi Food Safety and Hygiene Department to inspect and handle violations in advertising the Nutri Brain IQ food supplement product.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency, Ministry of Public Security is investigating the case of "Production and trading of counterfeit food products" occurring at Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, Hacofood Group Nutrition Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, related agencies and organizations in Hanoi and provinces and cities nationwide.

The investigation agency determined that the quality indicators of some substances were below 70% of the declared level, which qualified them as counterfeit goods. Over a period of four years, the subjects produced 573 types of powdered milk with different brands, generating revenue of nearly VND500 billion.
