Domestic coffee price list updated at 4:30 a.m. on February 16, 2025 |
According to statistics, Vietnam's coffee exports in 2024 will reach 1.3 million tons with a value of up to 5.62 billion USD. Although the export volume decreased by 17.1% compared to the previous year, the export value increased by 32.5%, showing that the average export coffee price reached 4,178 USD/ton, an increase of 59.9% compared to 2023.
In 2024, Germany, Italy and Spain will be the three largest coffee consuming markets of Vietnam, accounting for 10.7%, 8.2% and 7.9% of the market share, respectively. Coffee exports will grow strongly in all markets in the group of 15 largest markets, of which Malaysia will record a double-digit increase, while the Netherlands will increase by 94%. Belgium is the market with the lowest increase, only 9.3%.
Based on data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in January 2025, coffee exports are estimated to reach 140 thousand tons with a value of 763 million USD, down 41.1% in volume but up 5% in value compared to the same period in January 2024. The average export price of coffee in January 2025 is estimated at 5,450 USD/ton, up 78.5% over the same period last year.
Current coffee prices have exceeded the forecasts of many businesses. In this context, exporting businesses are forced to buy at higher prices and sell at higher prices according to market prices, instead of fixing prices in advance.
Mr. Phan Minh Thong, General Director of Phuc Sinh Joint Stock Company, commented that coffee buyers around the world will flock to Vietnam and Indonesia to find supplies. It is expected that coffee exports this year will earn more than 6 billion USD, possibly even reaching 7 billion USD, which is a positive signal for the coffee industry.
In the context of high coffee prices, farmers will gain great profits, however, businesses also face both challenges and opportunities. To maximize benefits, businesses need to limit buying from far away and selling from far away and create close links with farmers, in order to develop high-quality and sustainable coffee gardens. At the same time, promoting Robusta coffee as a quality alternative with lower prices is also a necessary direction.
