The listed price of the shirt is one thing, but the selling price is another.

Mr. T, a regular customer of the Lacoste fashion brand, said that on May 24, he stopped by the Lacoste store at Pacific Place, Ly Thuong Kiet Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) to buy a T-shirt. Seeing a round-neck shirt priced at VND1.75 million, Mr. T decided to buy it. When he got to the checkout counter, the staff informed Mr. T that he had to pay VND1.99 million.

“ The Lacoste store staff shared that 1.99 million VND is the new updated price of the product. The price on the label is the old price. Although the difference is not much, I feel disappointed and surprised with the way a big fashion brand like Lacoste works. I am not satisfied with this shopping experience ,” said Mr. T.

According to Mr. T, Lacoste is a fashion brand that many Vietnamese people trust and choose. The buyers are mainly intellectuals, businessmen and rich people. Therefore, Lacoste needs to bring customers a better shopping experience.

Responding to VTC News , Mr. Ngo Hoang Luan, store manager of Lacoste in Pacific Palace, said that the reason the shirt label says 1.75 million VND is because this is an old label, the store has not updated it yet. The price on this label has not been adjusted, leading to the difference between the listed price and the price delivered to customers.

“ This is our mistake, although the selling price has been adjusted to increase, the warehouse department has not properly affixed the labels on some products, leading to incorrect prices ,” said Mr. Luan.

According to Mr. Luan, when Lacoste products arrive in Vietnam, they will be sent to the warehouse for staff to label them in Vietnamese and distribute them to retail locations. A few days ago, the store also did a general inventory of goods to sell new products.

Regarding the incident of Lacoste shirts “listed at one price but sold at another”, VTC News reporters went to Lacoste stores on Dong Khoi and Le Lai streets (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). However, the round neck T-shirt model similar to the one Mr. T bought in Hanoi was labeled with a price of 1.99 million VND, there was no situation of incorrect price tag on the shirt.

We talked to a female employee at the Lacoste store at 58 Dong Khoi (HCMC) about Mr. T's case in Hanoi. This employee said that the old price of the shirt might be 1.75 million VND, and the new price is 1.99 million VND.

“ Don’t worry, when we scanned the code on the system, we saw that the price had increased, maybe the staff in Hanoi had not had time to process the old label. Sometimes we missed the label in the warehouse ,” said the female staff.
