Connecting love from 'Zero-dong Tet Market'

On the morning of January 29, Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, led a working delegation to Da Nang City to visit and present gifts to poor households, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, and policy families on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024.

Also attending the program were Mr. Huynh Thanh Xuan, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society; Mr. Vu Van Tien, Head of the Propaganda Department - Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

With the message "connecting to create a wonderful Tet", the program "Zero-VND Tet Market" hosted by the Da Nang Red Cross Society has helped 1,000 poor households, near-poor households, households in difficult circumstances, households with people infected with Agent Orange, people with disabilities, terminally ill patients and other vulnerable groups. The gift is a shopping voucher worth 600,000 VND to choose and buy essential products at the program's booths to serve the needs of spring and Tet.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, led a working delegation to visit and give gifts to the poor in Da Nang City.

In addition, people can also participate in entertainment activities at free booths such as haircuts, calligraphy gifts, health consultations, photography... In particular, the program also includes the activity of wrapping and giving 1,000 banh chung to students, workers in difficult circumstances who have to stay in the city during Tet or lottery ticket sellers, street vendors, homeless people, and low-income households in Da Nang City.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tanh (residing in Hai Chau District, Da Nang City) expressed her joy when receiving Tet gifts. "During the days near Tet, agencies and organizations took care of me and helped me ease the burden of shopping for Tet. Being able to participate in Tet activities and take photos made my family very happy," Ms. Tanh confided.

At the Tet gift giving program hosted by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, 60 poor households in Hai Chau, Thanh Khe, Son Tra districts and 40 workers and laborers in difficult circumstances received Tet gifts. Each gift included 1 million VND in cash and necessities.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, said that the Politburo and the Secretariat pay attention to important events of the country and localities, especially the day when the whole people look forward to the traditional New Year. Therefore, the Politburo and the Secretariat have assigned central leaders to visit and share in the New Year activities of the people in 63 provinces and cities across the country. In particular, they pay attention to people with meritorious services, policy beneficiaries, ethnic minorities in border areas, islands, mountainous areas, and people and ethnic minorities in difficult circumstances.
