Eco Retreat urban area of Ecopark founder, 220ha wide, located in the west of Ho Chi Minh City, about 30 minutes from Bach Dang wharf (District 1) along Vo Van Kiet Avenue - Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway.
Eco Retreat is about 30 minutes from District 1 via Vo Van Kiet Avenue - Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway.
Eco Retreat is built according to the retreat model of therapy, recovery, and comprehensive regeneration with a core area of 50 hectares of retreat space distributed into a retreat circle including themed gardens arranged in a continuous manner so that anyone can easily find a suitable retreat program for themselves.
Children's activity garden.
At Eco Retreat, children can freely run barefoot to explore the natural world, learn while playing, play while learning in the gardens: fruit garden, vitamin D garden, reading garden, exercise garden... thereby limiting the time they spend glued to their phones, iPads...
These utility gardens encourage children to increase their observation skills, physical development, and thinking. Through exploring the real world around them, children also learn how to adapt to social interactions, make friends easily, increase their ability to express themselves in language, and promote the comprehensive development index of human beings, not only IQ, EQ but also PQ (physical index), SQ (social index), CQ (creativity index) and AQ (willpower index).
Camping garden - a favorite place for teenage residents.
For teenagers, an age group prone to psychological crises, lacking skills to cope with pressure and curious to explore themselves, Eco Retreat designs sports gardens, camping gardens, reading gardens, and creative squares. These private retreat spaces help teenagers broaden their horizons, form healthy habits, discover their strengths and talents, train their willpower, improve their analytical and reasoning skills, handle situations, and develop new skills including artistic creativity.
Creative square stimulates children and teenagers to learn and explore themselves at Eco Retreat.
The effectiveness of living in nature for children and adolescents has been proven through many studies. Dr. Nooshin Razani of UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Oakland, California is among the doctors in the world who are trying to reconnect people with nature as a way to treat anxiety and depression.
In the initial project, she trained outpatient pediatricians to encourage their patients and their families to make an effort to spend time in parks regularly, with travel expenses covered by the East Bay Regional Parks District. To educate physicians and patients about treatment, she emphasized the use of parks as a form of therapy. She provided family members with maps of parks so they could take their patients there to play, enjoy the scenery, and be in nature.
Adults and seniors have their own retreat space
Sound garden at Eco Retreat.
For adults, the retreat circle designs therapies that require interaction and understanding of retreat techniques, such as the sound garden that uses appropriate sound frequency therapy to bring about a positive energy state. The Vitamin D garden is a location overlooking the water to welcome the early morning sunlight, designed with many spaces for meditation and yoga on the rocks.
The essential oil garden is a place where adults can spend time absorbing natural essences such as negative ions and phytoncides from essential oil plants, while also having suitable retreat activities depending on the time of use. The most prominent is the 8km long forest bathing path along the water surface.

Forest bathing is a therapy based on the science of Japanese forest medicine, applied for thousands of years and officially included in the national health program since 1982. Accordingly, forest bathing (shinrin-yoku) means "immersing in the atmosphere of the forest". Forest bathing has become a healthy, safe and sustainable retreat method that anyone can apply, as long as there is a diverse vegetation, fresh air, high content of negative ions and phytoncides.
Yoshifumi Miyazaki, a professor at Chiba University in Japan, studied the benefits of forest bathing and found that retreats in the forest reduced stress hormones by 12.4%, compared to city walks.
Older residents can fish at the patience garden.
In addition, the retreat circle also focuses on the need for social connection through a community of people with similar interests, and care for the elderly. Instead of being confined in a house, the elderly at Eco Retreat can meet each other in the botanical garden, have health clubs in the gardens and squares, or have healthy entertainment that helps keep the mind sharp such as the chess garden, fishing platform in the patience garden.
Chess gardens help the elderly stay alert.
The connection distance of every house in Eco Retreat to these gardens is only 200m, right within sight, reminding residents to use comprehensive retreat therapy every day.
"Everyone can easily find their own retreat forest at Eco Retreat because we did not develop Eco Retreat to be an urban area, but aspire Eco Retreat to become a forest. With 20 themed gardens, adults can choose today's retreat menu (theme) to walk in the herb garden, then play sports and stop to enjoy tea in the botanical garden.
Or when traveling with children, adults can have a wider retreat circle: starting from the relaxation garden to step on the stone steps to massage their feet, enjoying the scent of essential oils, then walking to the wisdom garden for the children to read books, just a few steps and the adults are in the herb garden. Meanwhile, the children eagerly run to the exercise garden, just like that, the generations in the family continuously expand the retreat circle, together experiencing many hours in the middle of nature", the representative of the founder of Ecopark shared the intention of designing the retreat circle.
