- Ministry of Industry and Trade reports on direct electricity trading without going through EVN

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just sent the latest report to the Prime Minister on the study and development of a direct power purchase agreement (DPPA) mechanism between renewable energy power generators and large electricity users. Responding to the petition of voters in Binh Thuan province about abolishing motorbike insurance, the Ministry of Finance said: Currently, motorbikes and motorbikes are still the main means of motor transport and the biggest cause of accidents in Vietnam. The Ministry of Finance has just issued a document responding to the National Assembly delegation of Quang Ninh province regarding the collection of road maintenance fees through gasoline and oil. The Ministry of Finance said that road usage fees are collected annually per vehicle, and the fees are paid to the inspection unit when the vehicle is inspected, creating fairness in road usage fee collection. The Ministry requested voters of Quang Ninh province to comply with current regulations on road usage fees. (See more)

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just reported to the Prime Minister to re-propose solutions for developing rooftop solar power sources, in which it expressed a new viewpoint of considering buying and selling electricity on the condition that both the source and the load are not connected to the national grid. In this report, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the current electricity law does not have regulations on self-produced and self-consumed electricity sources. (See more)

The Ministry of Finance is seeking comments on the draft Circular amending and supplementing Circular No. 292/2016/TT-BTC, Circular No. 296/2016/TT-BTC, Circular No. 297/2016/TT-BTC and Circular No. 09/2021/TT-BTC on management of accounting practice and business (according to Chinhphu.vn).

The Ministry of Transport has just issued a decision to apply the form of open domestic bidding to select investors to implement the Project of building the No. 1 aircraft maintenance area at Long Thanh International Airport. There are 2 investors who have submitted registration documents to implement the project, including Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (VAECO). - Eximbank Board of Directors has 2 new members

At the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on September 18, Vietnam Export Import Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Eximbank - Code: EIB) elected two new members to the Board of Directors for the 2020-2025 term. They are Mr. Tran Tan Loc, General Director of Eximbank and Mr. Nguyen Canh Anh. One candidate for the Board of Directors withdrew at the meeting. (See more)

On the stock market , the VN-Index fell 15.55 points today, down to 1,211.81 points. However, securities, steel and seafood stocks appeared to be quite "healthy" in the context of the general market decline.

Oil prices on the world market continued to rise today, extending the upward trend of the past 3 weeks. Brent oil prices exceeded 94 USD/barrel, WTI oil prices exceeded 91 USD/barrel.

Gold prices on the world market today increased slightly. Domestic gold bar prices today exceeded 69 million VND/tael.

The USD price at commercial banks today increased sharply, exceeding 24,500 VND/USD in the selling direction, reaching the highest level since the beginning of the year. The central exchange rate today increased by 10 VND compared to the previous session, reaching 24,046 VND. The world USD price today decreased slightly.

Bank interest rates on September 18 recorded 5 more banks reducing deposit interest rates, including BIDV, BVBank, MB, SeABank and NCB. Since the beginning of September, 25 banks have reduced deposit interest rates. Of which, MB, OCB, ACB, Techconbank, Eximbank and GPBank have reduced interest rates twice since the beginning of the month.
