Staging the first live performance at Trang An scenic complex

Sharing at a press conference held on the morning of December 8 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province said that the 2nd Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival in 2023 is a national cultural and tourism event, aiming to promote cultural exchange activities and honor cultural heritages associated with tourism development.

Accordingly, the Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival 2023 with the theme Heritage Colors - Convergence and Spread will be held from December 26 to 31 in Ninh Binh City and Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province.

Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival is expected to include 4 unique key activities demonstrating the connection, convergence, and spread of cultural heritage colors of Ninh Binh province in particular and regions in the country in general: Festival opening program; Southern cultural heritage program; North Central cultural heritage program and Laos - Vietnam cultural exchange and closing program "Fiery Ancient Capital - welcoming the new year" .

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, the highlight of the Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival 2023 is the opening program, which is elaborately staged like the first live performance held in the magical space of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage Trang An Scenic Complex.

"The elements of rivers, mountains, music, light, contemporary dance, water-skimming performances, calligraphy through dance... will blend together to create a beautiful ink painting. The play tells the story of the history and culture of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh and the quintessence of cultural colors of regions along the length of the country," said Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong.

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, this year’s Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival will mobilize about 200 boatmen on Trang An wharf to participate in performing in art programs. Ordinary boatmen will become actors performing according to the script.

In addition, the Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival also has the participation of international art troupes from Udomxay province - Laos, artists and artisans from culturally distinctive regions across the country will perform at activities within the framework of the Festival.

The Festival's General Director is Meritorious Artist Thanh Hang; Music Director: Musician Nguyen Manh Tien; Stage Director: Meritorious Artist Thanh Hien.

The leader of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province said that the Festival is one of the activities contributing to turning Ninh Binh into a major cultural industrial center, a center for organizing international and national events in the near future.
