After nearly 80 weeks of operation, the Green Future Fund has quickly affirmed its pioneering position in implementing the Vietnamese Government's commitment to Net Zero, contributing to popularizing the green transformation to people across the country, creating diverse green areas - from the cyan color of modern electric taxis of Xanh SM or the green of VinBus electric buses, to the green foliage cultivated by young volunteers in the mountainous, remote and isolated provinces of the country.

The journey of "greening" with smokeless vehicles

In the field of Green Mobility - Vingroup's pioneering mark in the green transformation, the campaigns have attracted a large response from people nationwide, most notably the campaigns "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future", "For a Green Capital" which have supported tens of thousands of customers to switch from gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles, deploy public electric bicycles in Vinhomes green urban areas, promote the use of VinBus electric buses... have contributed to significantly reducing CO2 emissions.

VinFast and V-Green have also drastically expanded the fast charging station system to cover the whole country, creating favorable conditions for electric vehicle users, promoting the use of green transportation to become more popular. Electric vehicle festival events for experience and test driving have attracted a large number of people to participate, creating opportunities to experience VinFast's modern and smart electric vehicle models, while raising public awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles.

Xanh SM has also quickly made an impression despite being in operation for just over a year. In 2024, more than 90,000 Xanh SM vehicles were put into use, providing more than 171 million green trips for Vietnamese people, contributing to reducing nearly 131 thousand tons of CO2 emissions into the environment. This is a figure equivalent to 6 million trees photosynthesizing in 1 year. These achievements have brought Xanh SM recognition from the prestigious Asocio Awards in the ESG Category, and were honored with the Human Act Prize in 2024 for their efforts in creating green transportation and sustainable development.

With each customer who trusts and uses VinFast and Xanh SM services, the Fund for a Green Future receives additional support to carry out meaningful community activities, helping green actions spread widely throughout Vietnam. Receiving contributions of up to nearly 200 billion VND from Green point accumulation programs for customers from strategic partners such as VinFast and Xanh SM, the Fund and member units of the Vingroup ecosystem implement a series of practical projects and action programs, gradually creating a green, clean and beautiful Vietnam.

Creating a green - civilized - classy living community

In parallel with promoting green mobility, the Fund also focuses on raising awareness and changing community behavior towards green lifestyles. The most prominent and large-scale activities are the series of activities of the Green - Civilized - Classy Living Clubs deployed throughout Vinhomes' modern and smart urban areas, receiving the support of millions of residents.

Held regularly every week, the activities have attracted tens of thousands of enthusiastic residents to participate. To date, 100% of Vinhomes residents have classified waste at source, and classified nearly 1,100 tons of recyclable waste. In particular, practical initiatives to optimize energy use have made Vinhomes a pioneer in saving electricity, reducing emissions of more than 6,000 tons of CO2, building and spreading a green lifestyle to each resident community.

Spreading green lifestyle to the whole community

For nearly 80 weeks, the Fund for a Green Future has been constantly searching for and creating solutions and initiatives to continue to expand and apply the green lifestyle throughout the country, reaching all communities, all ages, from urban to remote areas. The large-scale community activities of the Fund for a Green Future have received a great response from all people, in which the highlight is the Green Voice Debate Contest, which over 2 seasons has attracted nearly 4,000 unique, new and equally convincing ideas from 6,000 high school students in 61/63 provinces and cities in the three regions, raising their young voices for a green future.

Recognizing the importance of Green Education, the Fund also accompanied the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to organize the ASEAN Eco-Schools 2024 competition to honor nearly 50 eco-school models nationwide, from mountainous provinces, highlands, to plains, and islands.

In addition, the Green Summer 2024 campaign must also be mentioned, when the Fund accompanied nearly 7,000 students from 30 institutes, schools, and universities nationwide to implement meaningful projects, improving the lives of more than 30,000 people in 12 provinces and cities. More than 23,500 meters of roads in remote communes, places outside the national power grid, have been lit by sustainable solar lights, hundreds of new trees have been planted to green the country roads and provide cool shade for local people.

With continuous efforts, the Green Future Fund and Vingroup member units have been making important contributions to building a green and sustainable Vietnam. In the coming time, the Fund will continue to expand its scale of operations, focusing on new areas such as green agriculture, strengthening cooperation with domestic and foreign partners, building a large green community network, and especially contributing to the Government's project to plant 1 billion trees by the end of 2025, aiming to reduce net emissions to "0" by 2050.
