In order to restore and develop the red-crowned crane flock at Tram Chim National Park, Tam Nong district, Dong Thap province by raising and releasing them back into the wild, recently the leaders of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee and the provincial departments and branches received the first 6 red-crowned cranes from the Kingdom of Thailand to Vietnam.
This is a cooperation between Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee and the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand (ZPOT), Vietnam Zoo Association (VZA), International Crane Federation (ICF) and Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden Company Limited.
For the first time, 6 red-crowned cranes (about 7-8 months old) raised at Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo were transported to Vietnam by air, including 3 males and 3 females.
