- On the afternoon of April 1, a working delegation of the province led by Mr. Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses and the development of social housing in the province, inspected the progress of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Van Quan district.
The working delegation included leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 188 dated October 25, 2024 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on implementing the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for households with revolutionary contributions, policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change in the province (Resolution 188), the Standing Committee of Van Quan District Party Committee has issued a plan and decided to establish and consolidate the District Steering Committee.
Accordingly, the District Steering Committee has directed specialized agencies to step up propaganda work to cadres, party members and people of all walks of life to clearly understand the purpose and meaning of the resolution; the District People's Committee has directed communes and towns in the area to review and evaluate the current status of temporary and dilapidated houses in communes and towns... to select new construction and repair to ensure compliance with the plan.
For households eligible for support under Resolution 188, after review, the whole district has 206 newly built houses and 266 repaired houses. To date, 206/206 newly built houses have been completed; 92/266 houses have been repaired. The district strives to complete all repaired houses by April 15.
For households eligible for support under Decision No. 270/QD-UBND dated January 24, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee, through review by the end of 2025, in Van Quan district, there are a total of 389 households in need of support (of which 234 households are newly built, 155 households are repaired). To date, the total number of houses that have started construction is 34, of which 22 are newly built, 12 are renovated and repaired.
In addition to the achieved results, the district also encountered some difficulties and problems such as: the review and classification of subjects were incorrect; the need for support to eliminate temporary houses and dilapidated houses was large, while the budget and socialized funding sources of the district were limited; due to the customs and practices of the people, they had to consider their age and the date of construction and repair of houses, which also affected the overall progress...
At the conference, delegates exchanged and discussed contents such as: the structure of houses for new construction and repair; the allocation of funds for households eligible for support; the mobilization of resources; the review of subjects eligible for support to ensure compliance with regulations; the propaganda work on the purpose and meaning of support programs in the area...
Concluding the working session, the Provincial Party Secretary acknowledged the efforts of the district Party Committee and government in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area in recent times.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to closely monitor the implementation process, propose specific solutions and roadmaps to complete the goals on time.
He noted: The whole country is in the urgent stage of restructuring the apparatus, in the coming time there will be many factors affecting and impacting the implementation of tasks, therefore the district Party Committee and government need to focus highly to speed up the progress; promote the role and responsibility of leaders and comrades in charge of the area to support communes to overcome difficulties.
At the same time, regularly inspect and urge communes and towns on progress and implementation methods; encourage and motivate units to perform well; promote propaganda and mobilization work to mobilize resources to join hands in implementation.
He requested the Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments and branches to strengthen coordination and support to remove difficulties so that Van Quan district can complete the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses as planned.
