After 4 nights of competition, surpassing strong opponents, the 2 teams with the highest scores, France and Italy, will compete to win the DIFF 2023 championship, in the night with the theme "World without distance".
The above scores were evaluated by the Jury based on a strict set of criteria including: Originality, ideas and themes of the performance; Richness and diversity of effects and intensity of colors; Scale and quality of the performance, ability to creatively utilize the shooting area; Music, synchronization between music and performance; Ending and overall impression of the performance.
During the announcement, the representative of the DIFF 2023 Organizing Committee, Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, also drew the order of firing for the two teams in the Final night on July 8. Accordingly, the Italian team will fire first and the French team's fireworks display will conclude the impressive 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
With the high-class and quality performances from the teams participating in DIFF 2023, the Organizing Committee of DIFF 2023 has decided to double the prize value. The Champion Team will receive a prize worth: 20,000 USD with a trophy and certificate; The Runner-up Team will receive a prize worth 10,000 USD with a trophy and certificate.
In addition to the First and Second prizes, this year’s DIFF will award two additional prizes: “Creative Award” and “Audience Favorite Award”, each worth 3,000 USD and a certificate. The awards will be announced and presented immediately after the performance on the final night.
Choosing the French and Italian teams for the final was an extremely difficult decision for the judges, because after 4 nights of competition with the themes "Peace for Humanity", "Love Without Borders", "Conquering Dreams", "Dance of Nature", all 8 teams participating in DIFF this year including: Vietnam, Finland, Canada, France, Australia, Italy, Poland, England all demonstrated endless creativity and left a deep impression on the audience, with extremely eye-catching fireworks displays.
“All 8 teams were really great, from the quality of performance, music, shooting techniques to composition” - Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang City People's Committee, Head of DIFF 2023 Organizing Committee shared.
Mr. Vi Kien Thanh, Director of the Department of Cinema and Vice President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association - member of the jury of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023 commented: "Compared to the previous 10 times that Da Nang organized the International Fireworks Festival, it can be said that this time there has been a development in quality. The quality has been improved a lot, even the Vietnamese team has improved."
Mr. Thanh also said that this year the difference in scores between the teams was very small, so it was very difficult for the judges to choose the best team. Therefore, he personally felt sorry for some teams, including the Polish team.
Commenting on the two teams that made it to the Finals, Major General, musician Nguyen Duc Trinh - Chairman of the Vietnam Musicians Association, member of the DIFF 2023 Jury said: “As expected, from the beginning, the two teams used music and fireworks very artistically, very smoothly together, especially the Italian team. Italy opened the music very well with a classical style, gradually modernizing and especially using Mozart's music, a classic symphony with a very modern variation. Besides, Italy also used fireworks that matched the rhythm and emotion of the music to express a magnificent beauty right on the classical music background, gradually modernizing to create a splendid performance.
On the contrary, the French "weapon" was to use a Vietnamese song, cleverly interwoven as a greeting, gratitude and integration with Vietnam, giving the audience the most interesting experience ever. The French European style music combined with a Vietnamese song very smoothly, it can be said that the team's skills were very good, so the connection was very good, creating a reasonable fireworks display.
The final night of DIFF 2023 will be a big challenge for the two teams France and Italy. According to Ms. Nadia Shakira Wong - Director of Global 2000 Fireworks Consulting Company, producer of DIFF 2023 event, advisor to the Jury: “The two teams will only have two weeks to prepare for the performance, while the last performance was prepared by the teams within 3 months. And the final night, the teams must use the fireworks list selected by the organizers, not prepare themselves as before. This further increases the challenge for the teams. In addition, the teams entering the final night will be required to use a Vietnamese song selected by the organizers. This is to increase the appeal and evaluate the analysis and preparation of the teams”.
It is known that the DIFF 2023 Final on the evening of July 8 will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel at 8:00 p.m.
