Accordingly, Yersin Street (from Pham Ngu Lao Street to Tran Hung Dao Street) will be adjusted from a two-way street to a one-way street, with traffic flowing from Pham Ngu Lao Street to Tran Hung Dao Street. At the same time, the pedestrian crossing at the new intersection of Quach Thi Trang Construction Site will also be expanded to enhance traffic safety for pedestrians.

The area in front of Ben Thanh market gate "transformed" after escaping the barrier of metro line 1

The median strip of Le Lai Street (from Phan Chu Trinh Street to Truong Dinh Street) will be extended about 50m towards the intersection of Truong Dinh - Le Lai, and will be extended in all 4 directions towards the intersection of Le Loi - Ham Nghi - Tran Hung Dao - Le Lai. Along with that, the island will be arranged according to the width of the painted line for pedestrians, combined with the installation of wheel barriers and guide fences around the island. This is for identification to create a shelter, reducing the distance for pedestrians crossing the street.

In particular, this area will also install 3 additional traffic surveillance cameras at Quach Thi Trang construction site (on Tran Hung Dao, Ham Nghi, Le Loi streets) to record traffic images online.

At the Le Loi - Pasteur intersection, arrange a lane for 2-wheelers to turn left and make a U-turn from Le Loi Street to Pasteur Street. At the same time, adjust the left turn and U-turn signal lights on Le Loi Street at the Pasteur and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia intersection to the same level as Pasteur and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Streets. At the same time, combine with installing additional signal lights for 2-wheeler drivers to conveniently observe when turning left and making a U-turn.

At Ham Nghi - Pasteur intersection: Arrange a left-turn and U-turn lane for 2-wheelers from Ham Nghi street to Pasteur street; at Ham Nghi - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia intersection, arrange a left-turn and U-turn lane for 2-wheelers from Ham Nghi street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia street...

The Department of Transport requested the Department of Construction to study and implement additional installation and review of replacement of lighting fixtures that have reduced capacity in the area in front of Ben Thanh Market to ensure sufficient light for the square. At the same time, trees should be arranged within the small island surrounding Quach Thi Trang Square and Ben Thanh Market to enhance the aesthetics for visitors' entertainment and sightseeing.
