The 2023 Ho Chi Minh City Futsal Open has just ended with the championship belonging to Thammasat Stallion Club. The Thai team left many good impressions on the home fans. They used the entire championship prize of 5,000 USD (about 125 million VND) to give to disadvantaged children in Vietnam.

Back in the final against Sahako, Thammasat Stallion showed their strength with a fast-paced style of play. They forced Sahako FC (Vietnam) to play defensively and counter-attack. However, this was a day when Sahako's defenders were impressive. Their defense was solid and their attack made the difference.

Sahako FC created excitement for thousands of spectators in the stadium by taking the lead in the 8th minute, after a quick attack on the sidelines and then a cross for Van Tien to finish close to the goal.

However, Carneiro shone with a run down the sideline and a low cross-angle shot, equalizing 1-1 for the Thai team in the 17th minute. Just like the first minutes, Sahako FC showed a resilient fighting spirit, not afraid of a stronger opponent. And that spirit was rewarded with a goal to increase the score to 2-1 when there were only 4 seconds left in the first half. Ngoc Son's side-kick sent the ball bouncing off a Thammasat Stallion player, changing direction, and into the net.

In the second half, the Thai futsal representative continued to attack to find an equalizer. In the 25th minute, Carneiro shined once again by breaking down the left wing and shooting diagonally, tying the score at 2-2. Back to the starting line, the two teams played tit for tat. However, Thammasat Stallion showed more danger thanks to 2 foreign players.

In the 35th minute, Di Maria fired a long-range shot that bounced off a player, forcing goalkeeper Xuan Hiep to go into the net to retrieve the ball. Using the power-play tactic at the end of the match, Sahako FC could not break through Thammasat Stallion's defense, and had to accept a regrettable 2-3 defeat to their opponent. Winning a thrilling match, Thammasat Stallion won the championship.

In the third-place match, Thai Son Nam TP.HCM decided not to register foreign player Gabriel to give opportunities to domestic players. In the 5th minute, in a quick attack, Manh Dung passed the ball to Hoai An to run down and curl the ball diagonally, scoring a goal to put the home team ahead.

From a long throw by goalkeeper Van Y, Minh Tri skillfully lofted the ball over goalkeeper Lincoln's head and into the net, raising the score to 2-0 for Thai Son Nam TP.HCM. However, Manh Dung's mistake when losing the ball right in the penalty area created an opportunity for Wellington to score and shorten the score to 1-2 in the 14th minute. However, the gap continued to be established when in the last minute of the first half, Gia Hung scored a double to put Thai Son Nam TP.HCM ahead 4-1.

However, the home team did not play well in the second half, allowing Selangor Mac to score 3 goals in a row thanks to Wellington (25'), Syahir (33') and Khairul (40') to end the score with a 4-4 draw. The situation forced the two teams to enter a 6m penalty shootout to determine the winner. Selangor Mac finished better, thereby winning 4-3 and taking third place.
