70 years ago, in the fiery days, after the command of the explosion of 960kg explosives and after 8 hours of the 4th attack, our army completely destroyed the A1 stronghold at 4:30 a.m. on May 7, 1954. After 39 days and nights of fierce fighting, we eliminated 4 battalions, severely damaged 3 French mobile battalions, and killed 825 French soldiers. But in return, 2,516 officers and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army will forever remain here, their blood soaked into every inch of land, every meter of trench on the stronghold. A1 - the "key" to the Dien Bien Phu stronghold group was completely destroyed. Liberating this stronghold created a springboard for the soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army to attack and capture General De Castries and the entire Command of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold, creating a victory that "resounded throughout the five continents and shook the world".

Today, after 70 years, Hill A1 has donned a new coat alongside the remnants of the war that remain forever.
