This year, he is 93 years old, but Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thuong in residential group 10, Thanh Truong ward, Dien Bien Phu city has been a Party member for 70 years. His hair is white, his skin is freckled, and he has difficulty walking, but his spirit and intelligence are still sharp. When asked what he still retains today after a lifetime of faithfully following the Party? His face radiates joy, his eyes are filled with pride and emotion as he says: "That is the sacred oath on the day of admission to the Party."
Mr. Thuong still clearly remembers the day he was admitted to the Party, May 20, 1954, just a few days after the Dien Bien Phu Victory. Becoming a member of the Party and above all, a soldier who fought on the glorious Dien Bien Phu battlefield, after completing his mission of protecting the Fatherland, he volunteered to contribute his efforts and intelligence to the task of building the land of Dien Bien to develop.
Having devoted his entire life to the revolution, even though he has been honored to receive the 30, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65-year and now 70-year Party badges many times, for Mr. Thuong, each time he is awarded the Party badge is very sacred and proud. According to Mr. Thuong: “The Party badge is a recognition of a lifetime of following the Party, wholeheartedly for the revolutionary cause. The Party badge is a reminder for myself and my family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to live worthy of this honor.”

As a witness to the changes of Dien Bien in general and Muong Ang in particular, Mr. Nguyen Cong Nuoi, residential group 1, Muong Ang town, Muong Ang district, could not help but feel moved and excited because his contributions became the first bricks to help the once wild land become developed as it is today.
Born and raised in Yen Thanh, Nghe An, in 1952 Mr. Nuoi joined the army when he was just 20 years old. After serving in many units and participating in many different battles, at the age of 22 he was able to participate in the Dien Bien Phu battle as the number 1 gunner. After the historic victory, Dien Bien entered a "new battle" of eliminating poverty and rebuilding the homeland. Like many Dien Bien soldiers at that time, Mr. Nuoi volunteered to stay and continue the task of economic development.
Mr. Nuoi recalled: In September 1954, I was honored to join the Party. Listening to the Party and Uncle Ho's words "taking the Northwest as my homeland" and "taking the farm as my extended family", I volunteered to build Muong Ang - a subdivision of Dien Bien farm. After the "hot" development period of macadamia trees, Muong Ang subdivision decided to promote coffee and macadamia planting. Since the 60s, I was one of the first to sow the seedlings. Not disappointing people, the coffee trees that were suitable for the soil and water grew rapidly, then flowered and bore fruit. At that time, I was assigned to be the Deputy Director of Muong Ang farm until 1993. After that, I continued to work as Secretary of the Muong Ang town Party Committee until 2004 when I retired.

Muong Ang today has become famous as the largest coffee granary in the Northwest. Keeping his oath to the Party, during his 70 years in the Party, Mr. Nuoi has always been aware of his responsibility, maintaining the qualities of a Party member, protecting the reputation and prestige of the Party. He still reminds and teaches his children and grandchildren that joining the Party is to sacrifice personal interests, serve the Fatherland, serve the people, and contribute to the development of the homeland.
As those who have accompanied the provincial Party Committee since its infancy, witnessing its growth and development up to the present day, veteran Party members like Mr. Thuong and Mr. Nuoi have even more confidence in the Party's leadership. On the contrary, the province has always paid attention to the work of caring for the material and spiritual lives of Party members, especially veteran comrades. On the occasion of the National Day on September 2 this year, the province organized a ceremony to present Party badges to 218 Party members. Among them, 1 Party member was awarded the 75-year Party membership badge and 1 Party member was awarded the 70-year Party membership badge. For Party members who were too old or ill to attend the ceremony, the Party grassroots organization presented the Party badges at their homes, ensuring thoughtfulness and solemnity. This is an opportunity for Party committees at all levels to express their deep gratitude for the contributions and dedication of veteran Party members.
The Party badges awarded to Party members are not simply a recognition of Party membership, but are an extremely noble reward from the Party, recognizing the contributions, sacrifices and dedication to the Party, the homeland and the country of Party members. This is also a source of pride for each Party member to continue to practice and strive for the common mission of the Party; at the same time, it is a shining example for generations of Party members to follow, contributing to building an increasingly rich and civilized homeland.
