Viettel mobile network is holding the largest market share in Burundi.

On January 12, 2024, Viettel announced its 2023 business results. In 2023, its telecommunications market share increased by 1.64% and continued to maintain a sustainable leading position with 56.5%.

Non-mobile services also hold the number 1 position, including fixed broadband (FTTH) with 43% market share; multi-platform television with 8.6 million customers, accounting for 31.2% market share.

5G service has been tested with about 500 stations in 63 provinces and cities. Viettel has also deployed its own 5G mobile network in practice.

Viettel said that the group's foreign revenue grew by 20.5%, maintaining a high growth rate for 7 consecutive years, 5 times higher than the industry average in the world. In particular, Natcom excelled in taking the lead in Haiti, putting Viettel in the No. 1 position in 6 foreign markets (including: Natcom in Haiti, Metfone in Cambodia, Unitel in Laos, Mytel in Myanmar, Telemor in East Timor, Lumitel in Bunrudi).

The information security field provided by Viettel has expanded its business to 4 international markets including: Japan, Myanmar, East Timor and Hong Kong.

Viettel Digital Finance platform is exported to 7 foreign markets, many of which have high growth rates such as Mozambique (450%), Laos (244%), Haiti (232%), East Timor (139%), Burundi (91%).

The complete 5G Private system has an export contract to India, the world's most populous and technologically advanced country.

Viettel has completed research, production and large-scale testing of the 5G product ecosystem, both hardware and software, putting Vietnam in the top 5 first countries to master 5G technology.

Viettel has announced the successful research of the 5G DFE Chip (the most complex component of the 5G ecosystem, with the ability to calculate up to 1,000 billion calculations/second), marking a breakthrough in Vietnam's semiconductor industry.

Test results show that 5G equipment manufactured by Viettel fully meets technical specifications equivalent to equipment from many global service providers.

Viettel maintains its position as the most comprehensive digital ecosystem provider today with 6 fundamental areas: digital infrastructure, digital solutions, digital finance, digital content, network security and high-tech manufacturing.

Viettel's digital solutions and services hold the number 1 market share in the fields of healthcare, education, and provincial government. Of which, the digital healthcare ecosystem connects 30 million health records, digital education solutions serve 4 million students, and the intelligent operations center (IOC) is present in 35 provinces and cities.

Major General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman of Viettel affirmed: "What we have achieved together in 2023 has added strength and great encouragement for Viettel to reach new heights in 2024".

In 2024, Viettel aims to increase consolidated revenue of the whole group by 7.2%; continue to improve the efficiency of foreign investment, with a return rate of 84%; ensure 4G coverage equivalent to 2G and convert all 2G subscribers to 4G before September 2024; maintain the No. 1 position in data center and cloud market share; promote the provision of information security services internationally; apply AI extensively; deploy Digital Twins solutions for smart urban management; officially announce the 5G device ecosystem manufactured by Viettel and promote international business; develop green energy equipment products; provide comprehensive solutions for cross-border logistics and deploy the Vietnam - China intermodal railway route.
