According to McKinsey (2023) report, Finance - Banking, Insurance and Logistics are among the industries that benefit the most when applying generative AI to their operations. This technology helps businesses automate tasks that require judgment, reasoning and decision support by up to 70%, saving costs and time, while improving business efficiency by 10%.
Generative AI - Redefining Traditional Digital Solutions
Previously, some businesses were hesitant to integrate automated interactive solutions such as chatbots, callbots, and virtual assistants into their customer care systems. With the traditional AI model, interactions based on pre-installed scenarios are not really natural or flexible, sometimes giving a mechanical feeling and cannot fully meet customers' needs for consulting or information retrieval.

Or in the Insurance field, generative AI can be integrated into the customer care system to advise on insurance packages or resolve related questions/complaints. In case a customer wants to make an advance payment from the insurance package they participate in, generative AI can automatically calculate the amount that the customer can receive based on the customer's history and preferential policies.
Even for transportation businesses, the AI-powered switchboard is a "new assistant" that automatically receives calls to book a car, transfers them to a centralized system, and places orders to dispatch a car to the desired address in a short time.
This is also the advanced approach that the VinBigdata team has applied to develop ViGPT - "Vietnamese version of ChatGPT" which was just launched at the end of December 2023. The product is introduced with two versions for the community and for businesses. ViGPT business version is integrated in the VinBase 2.0 platform, with solutions ViChat (text channel virtual assistant), ViVoice (call center channel virtual assistant) and new generation ViVi virtual assistant. The platform is built on a pure Vietnamese data warehouse and a multi-industry knowledge system, which can flexibly support many different business operations.
Tailor-made model for the Vietnamese market
Compared to foreign-developed AI solutions, the outstanding advantage of the enterprise version of ViGPT is its optimal deployment capability for Vietnamese enterprises. From database, model size, support operations to data security, all are "tailored" by the VinBigdata team to suit the problems of each Vietnamese enterprise, in a variety of scales and industries.
Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh, Product Director of VinBigdata (Vingroup), said: “The world's major language models have certain limitations when applied to Vietnamese, including: Vietnamese data has not been fully updated, the information provided may be inaccurate, it is difficult to integrate business operations, it is not deployed on-premise (supports on-site data storage, because the infrastructure is extremely large, it mainly uses Cloud), and may not meet information security and privacy requirements.”
According to VinBigdata, ViGPT is developed based on a large language model (LLM) with 1.6 billion parameters but still brings superior efficiency compared to other multi-parameter models on the market. With an optimal design, the model brings proactive resource management to businesses.
“Previously, ViGPT has also tested models with 7 billion parameters and larger. In the future, VinBigdata will launch more versions with more parameters (3 billion and 11 billion) to serve complex problems for businesses,” Dr. Nguyen Kim Anh added.
Currently, VinBigdata is also applying the enterprise version of ViGPT in recently launched products such as Virtual Assistant supporting public services, tested with the Information Center (Ministry of Information and Communications) to provide information related to legal documents, policies, and regulations on administrative procedures in the field of Information and Communications. In the near future, the ViVi Virtual Assistant on VinFast electric vehicles will also be upgraded with generative AI, bringing unique technological experiences to drivers.
According to the plan, in the near future, VinBigdata will provide free versions of ViGPT to non-profit organizations such as schools, social funds, non-governmental organizations... to help users look up information about the history and culture of Vietnamese people.
On December 27, 2023, VinBigdata officially launched ViGPT with two versions for the community and for businesses.
