Due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), the province has had heavy rain and thunderstorms since September 7, causing flooding and damage to property, crops, etc. With the spirit of "Wherever there is a need, there is a youth, wherever there is difficulty, there is a youth", the "blue shirt" force has joined forces with all levels, sectors and functional forces to focus on responding to and overcoming the consequences of the storm.

On September 7, when the storm was about to make landfall, Phu Tho Provincial Youth Union issued a document requesting district, town, city and affiliated Youth Unions to urgently respond to the storm. Accordingly, focusing on promoting propaganda in various forms on regulations and skills for natural disaster prevention and control, impact warnings and response scenarios for the People, Youth Union members and children. Regularly monitor and update information on forecasts and warnings about storm No. 3 from the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue at all levels; propagate and warn on websites, social networks, of the Youth Union, Association... Take early warning measures in areas at high risk of flash floods, inundation and landslides.

The volunteer youth team of Phung Nguyen commune, Lam Thao district supports people in moving their property to a safe place.

Strengthen the Youth Volunteer Teams, prepare disaster prevention and control tools according to the "4 on-site" motto (on-site command; on-site forces; on-site materials and means; on-site logistics) in accordance with actual conditions, ready to participate in support work under the direction of the Command Committees at all levels.

In Ha Hoa district, floodwaters rose high and overflowed Thao right embankment through Xuan Ang commune. Water also flooded Ha Hoa town via National Highway 2b, causing flooding in some residential areas. The water level of Thao River in Am Thuong has exceeded alert level 3, higher than the historical flood level and shows no signs of receding.

Faced with that situation, Ha Hoa District Youth Union has activated 20 Youth Volunteer Teams with over 300 volunteers, ready to join the functional forces to respond, support, and overcome the consequences of floods and inundation. From September 7 to now, the volunteer teams have actively coordinated with the functional forces under the coordination of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue at all levels to transport assets to help people in flooded areas, erect warning signs for areas at risk of landslides. Coordinate with the functional forces to build embankments to prevent water from overflowing... At the same time, continuously update information on weather conditions, propagate to people about natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, how to handle emergency situations...

Comrade Truong Nguyen Quan - Secretary of Ha Hoa District Youth Union said: In the situation of still raining weather, water has not receded, the Youth Volunteer Teams will continue to coordinate activities, support functional forces to evacuate people and property to safe areas, overcome the consequences of rain, flood and inundation.

Volunteer youth team of Huong Lung commune, Cam Khe district supports people in cleaning and repairing houses.

In Cam Khe district, due to rising river water, Tuy Loc, Minh Tan communes and Cam Khe town were flooded, causing many households to be submerged. 24 youth volunteer teams with over 400 volunteers joined hands with functional forces and authorities, and people to support families outside the dike to raise their property and move people to safety. In addition, volunteer teams actively participated in cleaning up fallen trees, cleaning the environment, repairing houses, and supporting people to move their belongings to high places to avoid damage from rainwater...

Together with the youth of Ha Hoa and Cam Khe districts, the youth of the whole province has consolidated and activated 226 Youth Volunteer Teams with volunteers in good health and experience in natural disaster prevention, ready to respond, support and participate in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods. At the same time, 100% of the Youth Union bases in the whole province have actively posted propaganda information about the storm situation along with the risks of flash floods, landslides, floods... to the people to promptly respond to and overcome natural disasters. This is a practical and meaningful activity, affirming the pioneering and volunteering role of the youth for community life.
