Message on the responsibility of the international community
Faced with the severe damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), many national leaders have sent telegrams, letters, and messages of condolences and support to Vietnam to overcome difficulties. This beautiful action not only has profound humanitarian significance but also demonstrates the spirit of international solidarity and the importance of multilateral cooperation in responding to and overcoming disasters that are becoming increasingly severe, not only in Vietnam but also globally.
The cooperation between Vietnam and the international community after Storm No. 3 is a vivid demonstration of the power of global solidarity in the modern context. When countries and international organizations join hands to support Vietnam to overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters, it is not only a humanitarian act but also a profound expression of sharing and common responsibility that countries shoulder. This is not simply aid, but a strong commitment to not let any country face difficulties alone.
At the same time, the assistance of countries and international organizations for Vietnam not only helps overcome the immediate consequences, but these specific, practical and meaningful actions also contribute to building more trust and strengthening relations between Vietnam and other countries.
In an era where global challenges such as natural disasters and climate change are becoming increasingly serious, this cooperation is the foundation for further progress, not only in dealing with natural disasters but also in economic development, cultural exchange, and building a peaceful and sustainable world.
The prompt and timely support from countries and international organizations after Typhoon No. 3 also sent a strong message about the international community's shared responsibility to stand by countries that have suffered heavy losses due to natural disasters. This is not just an immediate act of assistance, but a manifestation of the spirit of solidarity, that in a changing world, no country can stand alone in the face of natural disasters and crises. This message clearly affirms that responding to natural disasters is not only the responsibility of individual countries, but a global issue, requiring cooperation, sharing of resources and experiences among countries.
More importantly, the lessons and experiences from these assistance actions can become an important basis for developing international policies on disaster prevention and response. It promotes the development of global cooperation processes to ensure that assistance is delivered in a more timely, effective and sustainable manner. This event also affirms the role of international organizations in promoting long-term strategies to reduce the damage caused by natural disasters, thereby creating a global safety net that protects not only individual countries, but also the future of the entire planet.

In these difficult times, when storms and floods wreak havoc and test the resilience of the entire nation, the outpouring of support from countries and international organizations is a powerful message: we are not alone. Timely support, from providing essential supplies to sharing valuable lessons in disaster management, not only helps Vietnam overcome challenges but also highlights the spirit of solidarity and compassion of the international community.

Lessons on strengthening solidarity
The valuable lessons from international cooperation in responding to Typhoon No. 3 are not only a clear demonstration of the spirit of global solidarity but also an important turning point in affirming Vietnam's diplomatic position. In difficult times, when storms and floods wreak havoc and test the resilience of the entire nation, the enthusiastic support from international organizations and friendly countries has created a strong message: we are not alone. Timely support, from providing essential necessities to sharing valuable lessons on disaster management, has not only helped Vietnam overcome the challenge but also highlighted the spirit of solidarity and compassion of the international community. In addition, Vietnam has been sharing with the international community in similar situations.
With its resilient spirit, Vietnam has not only taken advantage of international resources but also used this opportunity to affirm its position in the international arena. The support from international friends has not only created opportunities for reconstruction and recovery but also highlighted Vietnam's ability to proactively participate in global discussions on disaster prevention and climate change. This has further strengthened the trust and respect that the international community has for Vietnam, and opened up new opportunities for our country to actively contribute to building a safer and more sustainable world.
After the storm No. 3 and looking back at the international support during similar difficult times of the country in the past, we understand more and more that sharing and support are also important resources, which can turn challenges into opportunities, enhance solidarity and promote sustainable development for all. This is a profound lesson about the power of cooperation and compassion in an increasingly interconnected and interdependent world.
Vietnam today is not only a recipient of assistance, but also a reliable partner, actively contributing to building a safer and more sustainable world. The spirit of solidarity and continued commitment from both sides will create a stronger foundation for friendly relations with other countries, promoting towards a hopeful future and lasting cooperation.
We also need to focus on improving our capacity to manage natural disasters, from improving infrastructure to applying advanced technology in forecasting and response. Learning from experienced countries and developing long-term strategies will help Vietnam become a role model in natural disaster prevention, thereby creating a positive and sustainable influence in the international community.
In addition, it is important to affirm the image of a united and benevolent nation through foreign affairs activities and global initiatives. Organizing international events, conferences and exchange programs will not only promote understanding but also strengthen partnerships, creating a strong environment for global cooperation.
I believe that maintaining and developing opportunities for communication and connection with international partners will help Vietnam not only increase its presence but also consolidate trust and support from the international community. These efforts will not only contribute to enhancing its diplomatic position but also create a solid foundation for cooperation and sustainable development in the future.
Countries share with Vietnam about damage caused by storms and floodsFaced with the serious damage caused by storms and floods in Vietnam, international organizations and countries have shared and supported Vietnam in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. On September 12, South Korea pledged $2 million in humanitarian aid to help the Vietnamese people restore areas damaged by Typhoon Yagi. Australia has provided $3 million for emergency relief efforts, and the first batch of relief supplies has arrived in Hanoi. The US Mission in Vietnam, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), has provided emergency humanitarian assistance of 1 million USD to help Vietnam overcome the extensive damage caused by Typhoon Yagi... Japan is considering providing material aid through JICA, including water purifiers and plastic tarpaulins. ASEAN and UNICEF have also deployed essential aid such as household appliances, clean water and hygiene products to affected areas. Other organizations such as UN Women and European embassies are working with Vietnam to identify urgent needs and appropriate support options. Through the Swiss Humanitarian Relief Unit, the Swiss government will allocate 1 million Swiss francs (US$1.2 million) for these efforts, and will send experts and resources to the heart of the relief effort. |
