On September 20, the Supervisory Delegation of the National Assembly Delegation of Quang Ninh province, led by Mr. Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province, conducted a thematic supervision of the implementation of policies and laws on the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values ​​in Van Don district in the period of 2018 - 2024. Accompanying the delegation were Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of the province; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Chairman of the National Cultural Heritage Council.

Currently, in Van Don district, there are 49 historical, cultural and scenic relics. Of which, the Van Don Commercial Port Complex historical relic is ranked as a special national relic; 2 relics are ranked as national relics; 7 relics are ranked at provincial level and 38 relics are inventoried at provincial level.

In order to strengthen the management of cultural heritage in the area, in recent times, the District People's Committee has issued documents to direct the implementation of state management work associated with the preservation and promotion of the value of historical - cultural relics, scenic spots associated with tourism development.

The district has directed departments, agencies, units, and People's Committees of communes and towns to disseminate and strictly implement legal documents related to the management of relics, cultural history, and scenic spots in the area. In addition, the district regularly directs the maintenance, embellishment, and restoration of relics from the budget and socialized capital.

Comrade Dang Xuan Phuong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, emphasized that the system of relics and scenic spots in Van Don district, especially those located in the Van Don Commercial Port complex, have special historical value. Therefore, preserving and promoting the value of this relic complex is very important in educating traditions as well as developing the local socio-economy.

He suggested that the district continue to strengthen state management of heritage. In particular, it is necessary to focus on reviewing and standardizing records for ranked or inventoried relics. On that basis, edit, supplement and update the contents introducing the relics.

At the same time, improve the professional qualifications and historical knowledge of the cultural staff as well as the staff directly involved in management at the relics. On the other hand, ensure that people and tourists when visiting have a correct understanding of the historical and cultural values ​​of each relic. This is also one of the very important issues to further promote the value of existing relics.
