Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference delegation visits Vietnam

Mr. Vuong Dung led a delegation to visit Vietnam and attend a friendly exchange between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese National People's Political Consultative Conference.

At the Party Central Committee headquarters on the afternoon of January 30, Standing member of the Secretariat Truong Thi Mai received a delegation led by Mr. Wang Yong, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, visiting Vietnam, according to a statement from the Central Committee's Foreign Affairs Commission.

Ms. Truong Thi Mai welcomed Mr. Vuong Dung and the delegation for successfully organizing the second friendly exchange between the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese National People's Political Consultative Conference, especially in the context of the two countries celebrating the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

The Standing Member of the Secretariat affirmed that Vietnam always appreciates and is grateful for China's assistance and support for the cause of national independence and the cause of building socialism and developing the country. She said that China is the top priority in Vietnam's foreign policy.

Ms. Truong Thi Mai suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference strengthen cooperation activities, promote people-to-people exchanges, especially in border areas, and work together for the development of the two countries, contributing to peace, stability and development in the region and the world.

Mr. Vuong Dung believes that Vietnam will continue to achieve greater achievements, making the country increasingly strong, affirming that the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will continue to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to well implement the direction and common perception of the two countries' senior leaders on strengthening bilateral relations.

Vietnam and China will also promote people-to-people cooperation to enhance mutual understanding and trust, contributing to developing relations between the two Parties, two countries and people to new heights.

The Chinese Foreign Minister will visit Vietnam and co-chair the 15th meeting of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee with Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on December 1-2.

China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years, while Vietnam is China's largest partner in ASEAN. According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the total bilateral trade turnover in 2022 reached 175.6 billion USD, of which Vietnam's exports reached 57.7 billion USD and imports 117.87 billion USD. 2023 is the occasion for the two countries to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
