At the 9th meeting of the 13th Party Central Committee held on the morning of May 16, the Central Committee considered removing comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member and member of the 13th Party Central Committee, from her positions and work.
According to the Central Executive Committee, Comrade Truong Thi Mai is a senior leader of the Party and State, who received basic training and grew up from the grassroots; and was assigned to hold many important leadership positions of the Party and State. Throughout her work and in her leadership positions, she always upheld her sense of responsibility, fulfilled her assigned tasks well, and made many important contributions to the leadership, direction, and administration of the Party and the activities of the National Assembly.
However, according to the report of the Central Inspection Commission, during his tenure as a member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, he committed a number of violations and shortcomings in implementing the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, the Regulations on the exemplary responsibility of cadres and Party members, first of all Politburo members, Secretariat members, and Central Executive Committee members; affecting the prestige of the Party and the individual. Fully aware of his responsibility to the Party and the People, he submitted a request to resign from his assigned positions and retire from work.
Pursuant to current regulations of the Party and State and considering the wishes of comrade Truong Thi Mai, the Party Central Committee agreed to let comrade Truong Thi Mai cease to hold the position of Politburo member and member of the 13th Party Central Committee.
