At the meeting, delegates contributed opinions, discussed and assessed the impact of a number of policies expected to be included in the Draft Law on Food Safety Amendment, including: policies on state management of food products; policies on management of food production and trading establishments; policies on assignment and decentralization of state management of food safety.
Opinions and suggestions from local practices will help perfect the contents of the revised Food Safety Law, ensuring feasibility and suitability with reality. Thereby, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of food safety management, ensuring food security and safety in the new situation, for the health of the people.
At the meeting, representatives of Tan Uyen City reported on the local food safety situation in the past time. Accordingly, the work of ensuring food safety has been effectively implemented. The food safety steering committee at all levels has been promptly strengthened, closely coordinating in food safety activities. Propaganda work from the city to the grassroots has been promoted in many diverse and rich forms.
Food safety staff at all levels and sectors are regularly trained and have their professional qualifications improved. Specialized and interdisciplinary food safety inspections are conducted on a monthly, quarterly, peak or ad hoc basis, in accordance with regulations.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Khuong Anh Tuan said that the delegates actively and enthusiastically contributed their opinions and provided valuable information. The working group will take note, synthesize, and propose amendments to the draft revised Law on Food Safety in the coming time.
