Favorable conditions for the Vietnamese team in Qatar

The Vietnamese team stayed at the 4-star Holiday Villa hotel in Doha (Qatar), and the players were given nutritious meals with a diverse menu during their participation in the 2023 Asian Cup.

On the afternoon of January 5, the Vietnamese team arrived in Doha after an 8-hour flight from Hanoi. Coach Philippe Troussier and his team were warmly welcomed by the organizing committee of the host country of the 2023 Asian Cup and were given very favorable conditions for entry procedures.

The team then moved to the Holiday Villa Hotel to check in. This is one of the hotels designated by the AFC for the 2023 Asian Cup finals.

VFF proactively chose this 4-star hotel because it is a familiar base for the Vietnamese team when they go to Qatar to train and compete, and its infrastructure and culinary quality have been verified.

After settling into their base, Coach Troussier held a quick meeting with the entire team to discuss the plan for the first day of activities, while also encouraging his players to focus on the 2023 Asian Cup campaign.

After the meeting, the whole team had dinner together at the hotel with a diverse, nutritious, and tasty menu, carefully calculated by the team of doctors.

At 6pm the same day, the Vietnamese team had a physical training session at the hotel gym. Despite having just undergone a long flight, thanks to the careful preparation in advance work from VFF and the thoughtful reception from the organizing committee, the players were all in a very comfortable mood.

The first problem for the Vietnamese team is adapting to the time difference (4 hours difference compared to Vietnam). In return, the weather in Doha at this time is very favorable for training activities, with an average temperature ranging from 17-25 degrees Celsius.

According to the plan, on January 6, the Vietnamese team will continue to practice in the morning and go to the training ground in the late afternoon. On January 9, Coach Troussier's team will play a friendly match with Kyrgyzstan. This is a match for the professional work of the two teams, so it will take place in an empty stadium and there will be no media activities.

The 2023 Asian Cup finals will take place from January 12 to February 10 in Qatar. Vietnam will be in Group D, facing Japan (January 14), Indonesia (January 9) and Iraq (January 24).
