On September 16, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan signed Decision No. 2461/QD-BCT, approving the plan to organize the "Green Economy Forum and Exhibition 2024" (GEFE 2024). GEFE 2024 will take place from October 21 to 23, 2024 at Thiskyhall Sala Convention Center, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City. The event is jointly organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham).
Accordingly, the Chief of the Ministry Office, Director of the Trade Promotion Department, Director of the European - American Market Department, Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development, Director of the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Director of the Department of Industrial Safety Techniques and Environment; Heads of units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Heads of the Trade Office and Vietnam Trade Office Branches in EU countries; Industry Associations; Departments of Industry and Trade, Trade Promotion Centers of provinces and centrally-run cities; relevant agencies, organizations, traders and individuals are responsible for implementing this Decision.

In order to promote the results achieved at GEFE 2022 jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and EuroCham; based on the proposal of EuroCham in Official Dispatch No. 0304/2024MOIT-VIETRADE/EUC on proposing the Ministry of Industry and Trade to co-organize the "Green Economy Forum and Exhibition 2024" and the program and event contents within the framework of GEFE 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Plan to organize GEFE 2024 with meaningful contents.
The program aims to promote sustainable development policies, national plans on energy transition, and climate risk management to implement the National Strategy on Green Growth for the 2021-2030 period and affirm the efforts of the Vietnamese Government in implementing its commitments at COP 26, 27, and 28.
Thereby, connecting and promoting investment, economic and trade cooperation between the Vietnamese and European business communities, contributing to promoting a green and sustainable Vietnamese economy through sharing initiatives, ideas and technology transfer.
At the same time, provide the necessary knowledge and resources to help the business community participate in the green transformation process to meet and adapt to increasingly evolving global standards; develop and expand export and import markets, increase two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and the EU and ensure sustainable growth in the long term.
The "Green Economy Forum and Exhibition 2024" (GEFE 2024) event will bring together a strong force including government agencies, embassies, industry associations, businesses and international organizations.
From the Vietnamese side, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will mobilize its units to participate in coordinating the implementation of the event, including departments, bureaus and affiliated units. Vietnamese embassies in EU member countries will also play an important role in connecting and supporting Vietnamese businesses to participate in the event.
In addition, the event also had the participation of localities, industry associations and relevant international organizations. This diversity of participants reflects the importance of green economy to Vietnam and the need for close cooperation between stakeholders to promote sustainable development.
At the event, Vietnamese enterprises exhibiting at the event have the opportunity to promote their strengths, products and technologies to potential customers, expand export markets and meet experienced international experts who can support businesses in accessing and implementing new standard policies, contributing to change and adaptation to the green economy, circular economy, green growth and development worldwide.
For European businesses, they will have the opportunity to promote their products and technologies to potential customers in Vietnam. At the same time, they will meet to find positive solutions, connect with potential partners, high-quality Vietnamese manufacturers and suppliers that meet international standards to develop and diversify their business supply chains.
At the same time, localities will have the opportunity to access large international purchasing channels, expand export markets, participate in global production and supply chains, as well as access modern technologies from European enterprises to support local enterprises in the process of transforming production towards green and sustainable growth.
Participating businesses have the opportunity to learn about national energy policies and plans, macro-level climate risks, topics related to circular economy, sustainable development, and green economy. From there, they can invest and prepare appropriately to anticipate new business trends and seize opportunities to develop in foreign markets.
