According to the National Petroleum and Gas Reserve and Supply Infrastructure Plan approved by the Government, in the period of 2021 - 2025, Ha Tinh will invest in building 3 new petroleum depots.

Ha Tinh currently has 2 petroleum depots with a total scale of 69,000 m3 , of which Vung Ang petroleum depot (Ky Loi commune, Ky Anh town) has a scale of 60,000 m3 and Xuan Giang petroleum depot in Xuan Giang commune, Nghi Xuan district, has a scale of 9,000 m3 .
According to Decision No. 861/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister signed by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha on July 18, 2023 approving the National Petroleum and Gas Reserve and Supply Infrastructure Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, Ha Tinh continues to operate and exploit the above two petroleum depots.
In addition, the Vung Ang petroleum depot will be expanded with an additional 100,000 m3 . Of which, in the 2026 - 2030 period, 50,000 m3 will be invested in and in the 2030 - 2050 period, 50,000 m3 will be expanded. The total capacity by 2050 is 160,000 m3 .
According to the plan, in the period of 2021 - 2025, the petroleum reserve infrastructure in Ha Tinh will be invested in building 3 new petroleum depots, including: Cau Treo petroleum depot (Cau Treo International Border Gate Economic Zone, Huong Son district) with a scale of 15,000 m3 , is a downstream warehouse; Xuan Pho petroleum depot (Xuan Pho commune, Nghi Xuan) with a scale of 10,000 m3 , is a downstream warehouse; Vung Ang Economic Zone petroleum depot (Ky Loi commune, Ky Anh town) with a scale of 60,000 m3 , is a key warehouse.
The planning aims to develop a petroleum reserve and supply infrastructure system to ensure adequate, safe and continuous supply for socio-economic development.
Regarding infrastructure for storing and supplying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), in the period of 2021 - 2025, the province will invest in expanding the Vung Ang LPG warehouse with a capacity of 1,600 tons, increasing the capacity after expansion to 3,385 tons.
In addition, the planning for the construction of a storage system and supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Ha Tinh with a scale of 0.5 - 1 million tons in the 2026 - 2030 period and a scale of 1 - 3 million tons in the 2030 - 2050 period.
On July 25, 2023, the People's Committee of Ha Tinh province issued Document No. 3848/UBND-KT2 on advising on the implementation of the National Petroleum and Gas Reserve and Supply Infrastructure Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments, branches and localities to specifically study the contents and instructions in Decision No. 861/QD-TTg; advise on the implementation of related contents according to regulations, ensuring effectiveness and suitability to the actual situation of the province.
The national petroleum and gas reserve and supply infrastructure planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, aims to develop a national petroleum and gas reserve and supply infrastructure system, including strategic reserves (national reserves); production reserves, commercial reserves, transportation, circulation and distribution, meeting economic, technical and environmental criteria, ensuring adequate, safe and continuous reserves and supply for socio-economic development, security and defense. Ensure the country's crude oil and petroleum product reserve capacity reaches 75-80 days of net import, striving to reach 90 days of net import; ensure gas reserve capacity to meet domestic market demand and raw gas for the energy and industrial sectors. |
