In the 11 months of 2024, Da Nang had 4 semiconductor design enterprises registering to establish new enterprises.

The Economic - Budget Committee of the People's Council of Da Nang City recently reported the results of monitoring the "Project for Developing Semiconductor Chips and Microchips in the City" developed by the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

According to the draft project, Da Nang aims to become one of the three major centers in Vietnam for microchip, semiconductor design and artificial intelligence application development by 2030; forming a high-quality training network for microchip, semiconductor and artificial intelligence human resources associated with the development of a synchronous microchip, semiconductor and artificial intelligence ecosystem in the city.

In particular, the microchip, semiconductor and artificial intelligence industries, along with digital technology fields, contribute to promoting the development of the digital economy, striving to achieve the goal that by 2030, Da Nang's digital economy will contribute at least 35% - 40% of the city's GRDP.

According to the Economic - Budget Committee of the City People's Council, the draft Project aims to increase to at least 20 enterprises designing microchips, semiconductors, and design services by 2030; strive to attract at least 1-2 packaging and testing enterprises; strive to have at least 5 startups in the field of microchips and semiconductors successfully incubated and accelerated development.

However, according to the assessment of the Economic - Budget Committee of the City People's Council, Da Nang currently has 13 enterprises designing microchips and semiconductors.

Therefore, the Economic - Budget Committee of the City People's Council proposed that the City People's Committee should further evaluate the targets set for 2030 based on the review and assessment based on the general global and national context and the practical situation of the city to set targets on the quantity and quality of enterprises in accordance with the city's reality; at the same time, determine the goals, orientations for enterprise development, and the value of contribution to the city's economic growth of this sector in the coming time.

In the first 11 months of 2024, Da Nang had 4 semiconductor design enterprises registering to establish new enterprises in Da Nang. Specifically, Mixel Vietnam Company (USA); Marvell Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. Branch in Da Nang (USA); Sibridges Vietnam Co., Ltd. (USA) and Ideas2Silion Vietnam Company (Korea). In addition, Da Nang attracted 1 enterprise developing systems and applying artificial intelligence, which is AIAIVN Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Joint Stock Company.
