Here, the opinions discussed and exchanged revolved around issues such as the results of the survey on the current situation and capacity to serve the wedding tourism market in Da Nang, the draft plan for developing wedding tourism in Da Nang and the pilot program to attract wedding tourists to Da Nang; introduction of infrastructure serving wedding tourism in Da Nang; wedding tourism trends and proposed solutions for developing wedding tourism in Da Nang; Indian wedding tourism trends and some factors determining the choice of wedding destination of Indian couples.
Opinions also shared information about the market, the potential to attract Indian wedding tourists to Da Nang... as well as difficulties in organizing weddings, including the limitations of the local wedding service ecosystem.
According to Director of Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center Nguyen Thi Hoai An, the idea of developing wedding tourism has been cherished by tourism workers for a long time and this will be the time for service workers to grasp the market segment, develop an action plan to connect the business community, develop a service ecosystem and build a brand for Da Nang wedding destinations.
Wedding tourism is a very new field in the tourism industry, but when done well, it will make a difference and if done well and professionally, this type of tourism will become a bright spot of Da Nang tourism.
It is known that in the past 5 years, wedding tourism products have been considered a development strategy of many Asian countries, especially Southeast Asia, taking advantage of natural resources of tropical islands, unique cultural values and attractive event organization costs.
Not only does it have the opportunity thanks to the general growth trend of wedding tourism in Southeast Asia, Da Nang also has the advantage of the increase and significant interest of the Indian tourist market, one of the countries famous for luxurious tourist weddings with a wedding market value of more than 45 billion USD in 2022 and estimated to reach 100 billion USD in 2025.
In 2023, although direct flights have not been restored, the total number of Indian visitors to Da Nang will reach 68,753, accounting for 4.64% of the structure of international visitors to Da Nang. It is expected that 6 weddings will be held in the first 2 months of 2024.
The seminar also announced for the first time the message "Where happiness begins" in the communication and marketing plan for Da Nang wedding destination in the period of 2024 - 2025.
