The 4th Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament 2023 ended successfully with the team championship belonging to Thanh Dong Table Tennis Club.
Taking place over 3 days (June 16-18) at the Ha Tinh Sports Training and Competition Center, the 4th Ha Tinh Newspaper Open Club Table Tennis Tournament 2023 has truly become a playground to satisfy the passion of amateur table tennis athletes throughout the province.
This year's tournament brings together more than 270 athletes from 38 clubs.
The clubs participated in the tournament with the spirit of solidarity, learning and improving their skills to develop together. All of them gave the audience many good matches, many technical moves at a high level. The Organizing Committee awarded 15 sets of medals to the clubs and athletes with excellent achievements.
The success of the tournament must first be mentioned in the number of participating clubs and athletes. This year, the number of registered clubs and athletes reached a record number with more than 270 athletes from 38 Table Tennis Clubs in Ha Tinh.
The players competed fiercely in all events.
Athletes competed in more than 550 matches, in a knockout format in 6 categories: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, and teams; divided into 3 age groups: under 35, 35-50, and over 51.
The organization of this year's tournament was highly appreciated. The Organizing Committee conducted the competition according to the rules, ensuring fairness and accuracy.

The field is spacious, creating comfort for the players to compete, the quality of the tables and balls are of high standards; the Organizing Committee ensures good power supply, air conditioning, and lighting so that the athletes can compete with peace of mind.
Athlete Nguyen Dang Giap (Nghi Xuan Table Tennis Club) shared: "Although the number of participating athletes was very large, the Organizing Committee managed the tournament very well and fairly, the athlete delegations competed honestly and professionally.
The tournament has left an impression and created a deep influence in the hearts of fans. I believe that next year's tournament will be even more attractive."

These include players such as: Chau Quang Hai (Huong Son Table Tennis Club, Gold medal in men's singles over 51 years old, Gold medal in men's doubles over 51 years old), Tran Hong Nhung (Dong Ray Table Tennis Club, Gold medal in women's singles 36-50, Gold medal in women's doubles 36-50); Tran Huu Loi (Thanh Dong Table Tennis Club, Gold medal in team, Silver medal in men's singles from 36-50 years old; Thai Nhu Y (La Son Table Tennis Club, Gold medal in men's team under 35 years old, Silver medal in men's singles under 35 years old), Nguyen Thai Hoang (La Son Club, Gold medal in men's doubles under 35 years old, Silver medal in team)...
Table tennis player Phan Dang Minh Duc of Agribank Ha Tinh Table Tennis Club created a surprise in the tournament when he won the gold medal in the men's singles under 35 years old event.
The most impressive thing of the tournament was probably the dramatic “dethronement” of Phan Dang Minh Duc of Agribank Ha Tinh Table Tennis Club in the men’s singles under 35 years old category. Facing the reigning champion Thai Nhu Y (La Son Club), with his youthful strength, Minh Duc played with great effort and tried to make a dramatic comeback with a score of 3-2.

The audience also witnessed the exciting team final between Thanh Dong Club and La Son Club. After 4 matches, Thanh Dong Club defeated its opponent with a score of 3-1 to win the championship.
Do Nguyen Viet Anh (Thanh Dong Club) had a sweet return with the team championship.
The success of Thanh Dong Club is a combination of the experience of veteran players like Tran Huu Loi and the youth of Do Nguyen Viet Anh. The player born in 1999 had a sweet comeback with the championship in the team event.
Impressive technique, possessing the ability to serve the ball annoyingly, excellent defense, Viet Anh always receives the attention of the audience every time he enters the field.
At the age of 72, participating in the tournament for the first time, tennis player Nguyen Hong Duc (Elephant Club - Ky Anh) excellently won the silver medal in the men's singles over 51 years old.
This year's tournament featured many first-time participants who performed quite successfully, such as: Nguyen Hong Duc (Elephant Club - Ky Anh) silver medal in men's singles aged 51 and over; Nguyen Thuy Linh (22 years old, La Son Club), silver medal in mixed doubles under 35 years old; Le Thi Ha Giang (23 years old, Elephant Club - Ky Anh) bronze medal in women's singles under 35 years old...
The appearance of more than 30 female athletes contributed to the diversity of the tournament.
In addition to male athletes, this year the tournament has more than 30 female players competing in women's singles and mixed doubles in all 3 age groups, contributing to the diversity of the tournament.
The tournament is a playground for "young tennis players" to exchange, learn experience and practice skills.
“Veteran” Nguyen Hong Duc (72 years old, Voi Club - Ky Anh) said: “This is a meaningful playground for amateur table tennis athletes. I have participated in many tournaments but this is a very grand and large-scale tournament. The athletes all have very good techniques, many matches have very high professional quality. The tournament attracts a large audience to watch and cheer for the clubs. I am very happy to participate in this tournament”.
Dong Ray Table Tennis Club excellently won first prize for the whole team.
In addition to the table tennis clubs with a long history of achievements such as Thanh Dong, Huong Son, La Son, Provincial Police... this year's tournament recorded the strong rise of many clubs such as Dong Ray (first place overall), Agribank Ha Tinh Club (gold medal in men's singles under 35 years old, bronze medal in team)...
This tournament recorded a record number of athletes and clubs participating. Thanks to good preparation and enthusiastic support from sponsors, the tournament ended successfully.
The competitions were conducted safely and professionally. The referees conducted the matches fairly and accurately, contributing to creating conditions for the athletes to compete at their best.
The success of this season is an important premise for Ha Tinh Newspaper and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to continue developing plans to organize the tournament next year and the following years.
