Watch 2 expressways through Ha Tinh that will open to traffic on April 19

At this time, investors, contractors and supervision consultants are still “racing against time” towards the goal of opening the two expressways Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang in Ha Tinh to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification and to facilitate people during the April 30 - May 1 holidays. The North-South Eastern Expressway in the 2021-2025 period passing through Ha Tinh has 3 component projects: Bai Vot - Ham Nghi, Ham Nghi - Vung Ang and Vung Ang - Bung with a total length of 102.38km, passing through the districts: Duc Tho, Can Loc, Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen, Ky Anh, Ha Tinh city and Ky Anh town. The 3 component projects were started in January 2023 with a design scale of 4 lanes, 17m road surface in the investment phase; 6 lanes, 32.25m roadbed in the completion phase. After nearly 2 and a half years of construction, with close direction from the investor - Thang Long Project Management Board and the efforts of the contractor and the supervision consultant, up to now, the North - South expressway sections through Ha Tinh have always had construction volume ensuring the set plan. In particular, the 2 sections of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang invested by Thang Long Project Management Board ( Ministry of Construction ) will be technically opened to traffic on April 19, and put into operation on the main route on April 28. The Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway is 35.28 km long, with a total investment of 7,643 billion VND, starting at the intersection of National Highway 8, Thanh Binh Thinh commune (Duc Tho) connecting with Dien Chau - Bai Vot expressway and ending at Thach Xuan commune (Thach Ha) connecting with Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway. The joint venture of Vietnam Construction and Import-Export Joint Stock Corporation (Vinaconex) and Corporation 319 ( Ministry of National Defense ) is the unit in charge of constructing the Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway. In the past time, the two contractors have mobilized maximum human resources, machinery, and equipment, divided into dozens of construction teams to simultaneously deploy construction on the entire route. Up to now, the construction output of Bai Vot - Ham Nghi Expressway has reached over 90%, ensuring the goal of technical traffic opening on April 19 and main route exploitation on April 28 in accordance with the direction of the Government and the Ministry of Construction. Meanwhile, the Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway, 54.2km long, with a total investment of more than VND9,700 billion, passing through Thach Ha, Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh districts, with the starting point in Thach Xuan commune (Thach Ha) connecting with Bai Vot - Ham Nghi expressway and the end point intersecting with National Highway 12C in Ky Anh town, connecting with Vung Ang - Bung expressway, is also moving towards the finish line according to the plan. This expressway is constructed by a consortium of contractors: Tu Lap Construction Company Limited, Xuan Truong Construction Private Enterprise, 471 Joint Stock Company, and 368 Construction Joint Stock Company. These are all units with many years of experience in constructing key traffic works. Up to this point, the main route of Ham Nghi - Vung Ang expressway has basically completed the asphalt concrete paving. In the photo: The overpass over the main canal of Ke Go lake in Cam Due commune (Cam Xuyen) has been paved with asphalt concrete.

Contractors are installing median strips, traffic signs, guardrails, and protective fences. In the photo: The Ham Nghi - Vung Ang Expressway section through Ky Trung Commune, Ky Anh District has been installed with hard median strips and painted road markings.

The intersections have also ensured the access of vehicles when the two expressways are open. According to research, each locality with a highway passing through is designed with on-off intersections for convenient traffic for people and vehicles.

The traffic sign system on the two highways is being completed every day.

Along the two highways, underpasses are arranged for people, creating convenience for people in their daily life and agricultural production.



The system of bridges, drainage ditches, access roads, and highway corridor protection fences has also been basically deployed.

Despite some difficulties during the construction process, with the support of the investor, contractors, supervisory consultants and local authorities, the two expressways Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang were completed ahead of schedule.

The opening of the two expressways Bai Vot - Ham Nghi and Ham Nghi - Vung Ang not only reduces traffic pressure but also opens up new space and development momentum.
