Trang An scenic spot becomes a live stage

The 2nd Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival with the theme "Heritage Colors - Convergence and Spread" will take place from December 26 to 31 in Ninh Binh City and Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh.

At a press conference on December 8 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ninh Binh province, said that this is a national cultural and tourism event, and also a unique festival brand of Ninh Binh province to promote cultural exchange activities and honor cultural heritages associated with tourism development.

The festival has four special activities, including the opening program on the evening of December 26 at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Hoa Lu District, Ninh Binh Province; the program "Quintessence of Southern Heritage" taking place on the evening of December 28 at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, Hoa Lu District; the program "Quintessence of North Central Heritage" and the Laos - Vietnam cultural exchange (scheduled) on December 29 at Thung Nham Eco-tourism Area, Ninh Hai Commune, Hoa Lu District. Finally, the closing program "Fiery Ancient Capital" - welcoming the new year, scheduled to take place at 10:30 p.m. on December 31 at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.

The highlight that makes the difference of the 2nd Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival in 2023 is the opening program, which is elaborately staged like the first live performance held in the magical space of the world cultural and natural heritage of Trang An scenic complex.

Elements of rivers, mountains, music, light, projection mapping technology, contemporary dance art, water-skimming performances, calligraphy through dance art... will blend together to create a beautiful picture telling the story of the history and culture of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu - Ninh Binh and the quintessence of cultural colors of regions along the length of the country.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong added that the 2nd Ninh Binh - Trang An Festival 2023 will mobilize about 200 boatmen on Trang An wharf to participate in performing in art programs. Ordinary boatmen will become actors performing according to the script.

In addition, all mapping projections will use the mountains in the center of the stage as the projection screen. The content of the mapping will be related to the reenactment of the history of Ninh Binh, from the time of Dinh Tien Hoang who founded the capital Hoa Lu to the time of Le Dai Hanh who developed the empire. In particular, the singers will stand on the boat, in the middle of the river to perform and the audience will also sit on the boat dock to watch the performances.
