Possessing pristine natural beauty and traditional identity of local people, Trang An scenic complex was officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage in 2014.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Trang An receiving this title, Ninh Binh will organize many activities from January to September 2024. The focus will be on the 10th anniversary of Trang An being recognized by UNESCO, scheduled to take place in April.
Mr. Tran Song Tung, Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee, said Trang An stands out with its majestic and magnificent natural landscape beauty, along with its traditional cultural identity that has been preserved and passed down for thousands of years.
"This place is also a treasure trove of intact information about human settlement traditions, traditions of land and sea use by prehistoric people, with many cultures continuing continuously and lasting more than 30,000 years.
We are always deeply aware that Trang An heritage is not only a treasure bestowed by nature, preserved and passed down by generations of Ninh Binh people to this day, but also a place where historical - cultural values and fine traditions of the nation converge and crystallize," Mr. Tung shared.

Typical events to celebrate this significant milestone include: the 10th anniversary of Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex being recognized by UNESCO ; an archaeological exhibition space displaying the cultural values of the province and Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex; Ninh Binh Tourism Week - The Golden Color of Tam Coc; a national culinary tourism festival, etc.
The events aim to honor the achievements and contributions of organizations and individuals in managing, preserving and promoting heritage values, spreading heritage values, inspiring and inspiring the young generation, love for the homeland and country, national pride to understand, to know, to appreciate and be proud of the historic Hoa Lu ancient capital, the position and importance of heritage to the nation, people and the world.
In January alone, the Old Tet Festival held in Hoa Lu Ancient Town will bring visitors many experiences in the traditional Tet space of the nation. This is also the opening event for a series of activities to celebrate the 10th anniversary of registration.
Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage on June 25, 2014, based on three outstanding criteria: outstanding global cultural values; aesthetic values; outstanding global values of geology and geomorphology.
At the time of its inscription by UNESCO, Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex was the 31st mixed heritage site in the world, the 11th in Asia-Pacific and the first mixed heritage site in Southeast Asia.
