This afternoon, April 24, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong chaired a working session with the Provincial Farmers' Association to evaluate the results of implementing the coordination regulations between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association in 2023 and deploy activities in 2024. Implementing the Coordination Regulations between the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association, in 2023, the Provincial People's Committee created conditions for the Provincial Farmers' Association to effectively carry out many association activities and farmers' movements.
Accordingly, the Provincial Farmers' Association has actively innovated the content and methods of leadership and direction; propagated and mobilized nearly 27,000 farming households to register to strive for the title of good farmers and businessmen at all levels; directed the construction and development of the Farmers' Support Fund with a growth rate of over 1.9 billion VND in 2023, while maintaining the coordination program with the banking system to support farmers in borrowing capital; organized 96 vocational training classes with 2,889 participants; provided advice and supported employment for 1,102 rural workers; built 110 models of farmers' associations participating in environmental protection...
The Provincial Farmers' Association has also proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to lead and direct activities related to agriculture, farmers and new rural development. The role of the association has been increasingly affirmed, especially in contributing ideas to the implementation of mechanisms and policies related to farmers.
In 2024, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Farmers' Association identified key tasks that need to be coordinated, including: Continuing to concretize the implementation of the Party's viewpoints and policies, the policies and laws of the State, the province, and the Central Association on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas; coordinating to launch and effectively implement patriotic emulation movements and campaigns; promoting consulting activities, vocational training, farmer support services, training on science and technology transfer, consulting on brand building, trademarks, and product traceability.
Closely and effectively coordinate in the work of receiving people, resolving complaints and denunciations related to farmers according to Decision No. 81/2014/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister; innovate and improve the effectiveness of monitoring and social criticism activities of farmers' associations at all levels, focusing on monitoring the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas...

At the meeting, representatives of the Provincial Farmers' Association and related departments, agencies and branches also exchanged, discussed and proposed the Provincial People's Committee to support the removal of some difficulties and obstacles related to the work of supporting farmers to start innovative businesses, digital transformation and develop linkage and cooperation models according to the value chain; gave opinions on organizing a rally to respond to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, World Environment Day June 5, World Oceans Day June 7, 2024 and launching the construction of a model of farmers protecting the environment and responding to climate change in the period 2024-2030; organizing a conference for the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to dialogue with farmers in 2024...
Concluding the working session, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested that in addition to the 8 key tasks identified in the coordination regulations for 2024, all levels of farmers' associations should further promote the dissemination and propaganda to all members and farmers of new policies and laws of the province and the central government; at the same time, review and re-evaluate indicators related to agriculture, farmers and rural areas to strive to complete the goals and tasks of implementing the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020-2025 and the Socio-economic Development Plan for the period 2021-2025.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also agreed with the proposal to organize a rally to respond to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week, World Environment Day June 5, World Ocean Day June 7 on June 3, 2024 in Vinh Linh district; requesting relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities to continue to advise the Provincial People's Committee and coordinate with the Provincial Farmers' Association to deploy activities to ensure practicality and highest efficiency.
